So glad the monster is dead... hope he suffered while in coma.

Now he will burn in hell for eternity with Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, OBL, Saddam, Qaddafi, Assad, and more.

It was a fair question, and not a defense of Sharon's actions or policies. But iff you put Sharon on a level with Hitler and Saddam, where is Arafat? I'm trying to figure out what your scale is.

I'm not making anything into anything. I just want to hear his opinion, which he has had no problem sharing on any other subject.

"probably while drinking your illegal Soda Stream"

I would never buy a soda stream, because I think it's a ridiculous product. But if it is "illegal" then so are most of the parts to your cell phone, computer, clothes, car, and the food you eat.

The problem I'm hearing about soda stream is where the factory is located, a factory which employs Palestinians and treats them decently well:
Quote :
"“Before boycotting, they should think of the workers who are going to suffer,” says a young man shivering in the pre-dawn darkness in Azzariah, a West Bank town cut off from work opportunities in Jerusalem by the concrete Israeli separation wall. Previously, he earned 20 shekels ($6) a day plucking and cleaning chickens; now he makes nearly 10 times that at SodaStream, which also provides transportation, breakfast, and lunch."

Let's now compare that to the average American cell phone and where most of our electronics come from:
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/jurisprudence/2013/09/conflict_minerals_from_the_congo_is_your_cellphone_made_with_them.html

So while people try to boycott a company that actually supports it's employees regardless of nationality, they seem to be ok with what happens elsewhere.

the Palestinians are not treated well, they were forced to participate in a video where they said they were. then they said that it was all for show and they are not treated well.

but it doesn't matter either way since the settlement is illegal, it's Palestinian land

http://www.worldbulletin.net/palestine/133374/israel-demolishes-bedouin-village-for-68th-time
Quote :
"Israeli forces on Wednesday demolished the Bedouin village of Al-Araqib in the Negev Desert for the 68th time.
"A large number of army and police forces stormed into the village and leveled ten homes to the ground," Awad Abu Frieh, a spokesman for the families of the village, told Anadolu Agency.
"The occupation force had not allowed the owners of the destroyed homes to take their belongings from the rubble, leaving them in the open air for the 68th time," he added.
Abu Frieh said that Israeli bulldozers had also destroyed eight homes in different areas in the Negev Desert, describing the event as a "massacre of Palestinian presence" in the desert.
Israeli officials could not be reached for comment.
Around 70 Palestinians, who carry Israeli citizenships, live in Al-Araqib. They say they own the land of the village even before Israel came into being in 1948.
More than 220,000 Palestinians live in the Negev Desert in general, but half of them live in villages and population concentrations that existed hundreds of years ago, according to Israeli statistics.

It seems Palestinians don't share that sentiment when it comes to teaching children. This episode of the children's show "Tomorrow's Pioneers" aired just last week.

^^ GTFO with that anti-Semitism... don't you know that Hitler killed 6 million Jews? You are talking about the "most moral army in the world", of course any video showing them doing terrible things has to be fake.

The footage is genuine, it's clearly a video of 2 guys getting hit and falling to the ground. My question is whether they were hit by rubber bullets but reported by Palestinian sources to have been hit with real ammunition.

If things like this hadn't been faked in the past, then I think the claims wouldn't be getting as much attention.

B'tselem also has been found guilty of staging photographs before. They aren't exactly creditable (then again, neither is the Israeli government, so I don't really believe either of them).

Because things have been faked in the past, you can't assume they're lying.

i don't understand how you are just casually mentioning that maybe they are rubber bullets like that makes it okay to shoot a kid in the back because he may have been one of the kids who threw some rocks

All you see is any semblance of this being a 2-sided conflict and you immediately jump to "Oh, he must think all Israelis are perfect and all Palestinians are evil."

I am saying there is a difference between rubber bullets and the supposed one "found" in the guy's backpack that looks like it was pried from it's casing and show's no damage that you would expect a bullet to take when it travels entirely through a person, into a backpack, and into a textbook.

Shooting rubber bullets at rock throwers is already excessive, complain about that and I'll agree. But staging a scene to make it look like a real bullet was fired intentionally at a teenager, that's worse. I haven't seen reports of any other bullets or casings found at the site. If there was intent to kill they would have been using real ammunition all day. I'd have an easier time believing the shooting was real if stuff like this hadn't been faked several times before.

That there were casings isn't in dispute, CNN recorded the shooting and even you are saying that they at least shot rubber bullets (which have casings). The casings would be on the other side of the border where the gun was fired.

some people think rubber bullets are not dangerous... let me lob a bit of rubber at you at 200 m/s and tell me it is not dangerous. anyway, it has a steel core, so it is not a "rubber bullet", but a "rubber coated steel bullet".

yes, they are dangerous, and they have maimed and killed people in the past.

And no, I'm not defending Hamas. But the ratio of civilian deaths are so absurdly one-sided, that this entire operation cannot be seen as "self defense"

I think what pisses me off the most about Israel, is the intentional dishonesty designed to placate the "moderates and progressives." They won't just come out and say, "we're going to annex the Gaza strip and west bank, no matter what."

Instead, they use every tiny little excuse to justify their conquest and contort the narrative to frame their aggression as "self defense." And while that may seem plainly obvious to outsiders, that amateurish mind game works flawlessly on people like bdmazur, who reflexively throw their hands up and say, "well, what else could they do?"

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Well, maybe Hamas should stop firing rockets from and hiding in civilian locations. The people in the Gaza Strip know who these assholes are and where they are, and they don't kick them out. As far as I'm concerned, they have their own blood on their hands. This isn't to say that Israel is blameless, because they are acting like total d-bags, too, but Hamas isn't even making a pretense of trying to avoid civilian casualties. Fuck em

Hamas regularly hides behind civilians. I don't know if Israel has purposely targeted any civilians or kids (and if they have then that's terrible) but they do need to kill the people who are shooting rockets indiscriminately at their population.
