Race #4 is next Wednesday, February 22nd @ 9pm. Track is Laguna Seca. Lap count is 30.

I have open spots on the grid so if anyone would like to join let me know. I only ask that you have practiced a bit and am able to run with the pack. If you can manage to lap this track in less than 1:35.000 you should be fine.

^true. Also cars seem to oversteer very easily at Laguna for some reason.

I should rephrase that to say if you can lap in less than 1:35.000 you will finish without embarassing yourself. If you can get your times to dip below 1:33s (consistently) and not crash then you should be competitive to win

After some practice I can run 'good laps' under 1:35, with tire wear that time starts to slide some. But here I think it's more important to have more decent laps ON THE TRACK than some fast laps and some laps in the grass/sand.

had 13 entrants for the race last night, the biggest turnout so far! Sadly one person lost his internet 5 minutes before the race start (couldn't get it back either) and 2 others were disco'd on the first bloody lap, argh.

Hopefully tonight's server maintenance will help with online stability issues.

Next race in 2 weeks, at La Sarthe!

^I use the Logitech Driving Force GT wheel and pedals. They're pretty nice but I got them mainly because they didn't cost a lot. Also it's really great having the ability to change brake bias, traction control and torque distribution (front/rear) mid-race.

My bad guys. I dropped the fuck out as I know I was causing havoc. I tried throwing the 3d on for this race and that along with other settings made me get my ass handed to me. Hope you guys killed it. I'll practice a lot more before the next attempt

I thought I heard one of you talking about how their ps3 was junkin up on them. Sorry to hear that.

It's also amazing how GT5 is not like riding a bike. You can't pick it up after a year and expect to be even close to decent with an hour of practice.

kimslackey, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you last night. Also I really, really hope that you didn't cause trouble for too many other drivers. I was in the front so I'm not sure what "havoc" you are referring to...I just hope it wasn't messing up anyone else's races

If you get enough practice time in feel free to show up for the next race, on April 4th at Monza. But only if you prepare enough!

In other news I finished first last night and almost led the whole race Twas my first victory in this series.

^ mostly it was my own havoc. I do know i was sideways in a corner while i had a bunch of people turn the corner.

I appreciate the kindness, trust me, it's no fun being bad, but it's especially no fun being able to not fucking drive around a track.
