Has anyone purchased (or even seen in the used car dealership) an RUF yet? I'd love to get my hands on a BTR, CTR or CTR2. I've raced against all of those but have yet to see one available for purchase.

Interesting sidenote (new from the update): It would seem that if you get gold everything on the AMG driving school Intermediate level you are awarded a CLK-GTR race car. If I recall correctly from GT4 you can mod it up to 1014hp or so.

I have a CTR, but I'm pretty sure I won it. Maybe one of the Euro challenges?

Hmm, thanks for the tip. I've done most of them I think but I'll keep an eye out.

Someone told me that if you win the Italia Challenge (ferrari challenge) in B-spec you win an F40, anyone on here able to confirm that?

What's everyone's fastest car ATM? I haven't done a lot of modding but my fastest cars are probably:

-Stealth GTR500 (got from pre-ordering at Best Buy) 545hp and around 1045kg
-Mazda Furai concept racer 490hp and 700 or so kg
-Lamborghini Murcielago SV (upgraded all exhaust mods) 740hp but kinda heavy
-Ferrari 458 Italia stock 590hp

I have a fully decked out Veyron, but it handles like shit The Veyron is completely undriveable without all possible weight reductions and racing tires installed.

I have a fully decked out Ferrari 599 that handles really well and is my car of choice.

I highly recommend shelling out money for a '09 GTR V Spec, doing all 3 weight reductions and putting sport soft tires on it. Then enter the Seasonal race for it. I came in second place and won 850,000 credits.

^^Don't buy it, it's a gift car. And I can't remember what event(s) I won it from. Either way I wouldn't waste the money.

Was anyone able to get on the PSN last night? I tried like 5 times and couldn't connect. Which really sucked b/c I wanted to do the Seasonal Events

that car is too heavy to win the Seasonal Race. Get a R32 or R33 and do enough weight reductions to get it to the bare minimum 1100kg.

I don't recall being broke for too long. After 9-10 races with the Miata you should have plenty of money as well as several prize cars. Also how much are you molding the Miata? I won a lot with just a few thousand worth of changes.

i've only done 3 or 4 races so far, but they only paid out 5000 for a first place prize

i'm looking at the dealerships and even the used lot, most of the nice cars at $texas

the vw bus race at the top gear test track really ticked me off. i got disqualified for barley bumping another vehicle or barley hitting the grass. it took me forever to finally finish 2 laps without getting disqualified

meanwhile, the gokart race allowed full offroad and you could slam as hard as you wanted into other karts

Its Barely

do more license tests, you get more XP which unlocks more specials which give you more money. The AMG driving school gives you loot.

i bought a 1980's rwd corolla for just a few thousand dollars and with some modifications was able to win raceswith 10 second gaps. you don't need anything nice to start. next car was an rx-7 which was good but too much power in that car and you will cook tires.

start the game by going through all of the licenses. You'll unlock the special races to earn easy money and free cars, and it will make you a better driver so that you don't have to upgrade your car so much. Focus on being a better driver and learning the tracks instead of upgrading your cars too much.

when doing a "championship series" of races, around race 3 or race 4 I will intentionally fuck with the guys who have been getting 2nd and 3rd place behind me so that I can have a >100 point spread and can therefore abandon the last race and win the championship. anyone else get a kick out of that?

Just beat it with my '09 GTR V Spec. Won by 3 seconds too, despite having a really shitty final lap. However, I did really have to trick out the car to win.

I just sell every car that I win. Now I just to have to keep doing the same races over and over again... lame. Why do they only have 1-2 races at each driving level that are open to any car... the others are waaaaay too specific. Not fun

^I haven't seen it, but then again I haven't been looking.

Finally placed first in all the Seasonal "Bonus Race 1" races, and started last night (briefly) on Bonus 2 races. This RX-7 one is a huge bitch from what I hear, and after trying twice I was still 40 seconds behind, good grief

I think the NASCAR around the Nurburgring race will be easy, but I really don't feel like paying 500k credits to buy a NASCAR just for the challenge, as I'm fairly certain there are a few events for which you win a NASCAR.

^ i dont have the patience to do that nascar one around the 'ring. and the best i could do with the GT-R one was 2nd place with a 10-second gap behind 1st. perhaps i just suck

and hooray for me, the 700k credits i got from that one i went and burned in like 10 minutes lol

love this game, is there anyway to force my wheel to 180ยบ mode? 540 is just too damn much to be slinging around unless i get one of those fancy mounts and chairs for it... the controller just doesn't have enough feel to it....

9/10l golds on B license about 8/10 golds on A 2/10 golds on IC (all silver or better) need to do the rest but i will be most pleased with silvers in all of the rest... i just cant do the all golds in all the licenses...

anyone have good insight on b-spec? does your driver rank up faster if you use a shitty car but manage him better? or should you just stick him in a awesome car and run him through as much as possible?

the main menu looks like gt3, (race menu)... and there is too much circle jerking in the other menus to actually do anything, like change the oil takes 1-2 minutes... (stupid animation)

there should be a menu option to wash/change oil/ buy parts for all cars (or selected cars), would make a large collection much easier to obtain....

any good picks for a solid FF ride?

Experience in B-spec is the same regardless of car choice.

And IIRC, it doesn't even matter where you finish...just get through.

In my experience it doesn't matter whether the car's competitive or not for B-Spec experience to acrue. But I want B Spec Bob to win so I try to make sure his car is faster than everyone else. Right now I've got 4 B-Spec drivers with driving skill ranging from 15 to 3.

Quote :
"any good picks for a solid FF ride?"

I went with the DC5 Integra Type R for the FF races and didn't make a single modification.

Has anyone beaten the RX-7 Bonus Race 2 yet? I spent around 200k (including car) modifying an RX-7 and I still can't get win. My best finish is 4.5 seconds behind the leader. It's frustrating b/c I can usually get into 2nd place with 2 1/2 laps left and still not catch the leader. My lap times are between 1:00.000 and 1:02.000. Dammit all

As for controllers I had a Logitech wheel but the motor went out on me. Don't have the funds right now for a new one so I'm using the DS3 controller and it can be difficult to say the least.

i switch drivers when one is in a slump, but have no idea if it actually makes a difference. one of my drivers is much less aggressive than the other so i tend to put the less aggressive driver in the cars that are difficult to drive.

My wife got me a Logitech wheel for Christmas, and I finally got it set up tonight. I currently have the wheel attached to a TV tray, but the force feedback mechanism moves the table around and can make the car almost impossible to bring out of a skid. I need to find a stronger table to clamp the wheel to. Other than that, it make the driving situation much more realistic.

I need to go through the menu settings and change the gear shift buttons from the shift knob to the R1 and L1 triggers on the back side of the steering wheel so that it will be similar to paddle shifting.
