I'm really getting hooked into dubstep as of late, I had been listening to mostly original stuff but I now find myself enjoying the remixes of the popular hip hop songs. Also a fan of all of Skream's work. The stuff is filthy. Share your favs if you've got them!

Rhianna - Rude Boy (Chrispy Remix)

Drake - Over (Hypercrush Remix)

This genre's usually hit-or-miss for me. I tend to hate a lot of the remixes (especially since it seems like artists keep trying to make dubstep out of things that absolutely do not naturally become dubstep), but this original from Chrispy is what initially made me want to look for more of the stuff.

Find Nettle's "Build A Fort, Set That On Fire" album. Bit different than what's been posted here so far (a bit more on the power noise end), but it's brilliant. Also, I'm surprised that Milanese hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet; check his "Extend" album. I'll also second pilgrimshoes' recommendation of Burial.

I don't get as much into the dubstep remixes of mainstream hip hop, so I don't have much in the way of recommendations there. But I like stuff that fuses dubstep with other genres (like Nettle). Virus Syndicate adds in some grime influences.

Included mostly because the video is so silly:

Virus Syndicate:

dubstep remix of a t-dub meme classic:

I don't own any subwoofers, but it seems like to me this music doesn't have any melody.

I prefer real dub, honestly.

if you don't own a subwoofer you're missing most of the song mang. dubstep is all about the wobble, and you can't really hear it well without a sub

It's not bad or anything--I liked it--but I can't think of any way at all in which that remix improved upon the original. But I realize that's not necessarily the point; dubstepping that which is not yet dubstepped is a worthy goal unto its own.

And it certainly doesn't have as cool of a video:

did i give you links for the XPN:Glitch mixes?

http://www.facebook.com/pages/XpnGlitch/28480276985

the links are somewhere on there, i don't have direct ones off hand.

He has a few good vocal mixes.

link off dabears' facebook to some guys mix: http://soundcloud.com/torresmark/dubstep-mix-1

but most of it is stuff dabears has used from the looks of it.

i've been using a pandora station with capsa, rusko, and skream on it to get most of my fix, but none of my favorite remixes of random songs are on pandora.

I know I've posted about this before, but ANY dubstep fan REALLY needs to get this set from DJ Nod:

http://www.djnod.net/audio/dj_nod_-_live_at_forest_of_visions_paris_-_2010-05-30_-_dancey_set.mp3

It's all good, but gets fucking awesome around the 30min mark.
