The standings are finally up for all divisions.

Dear Hibernian,

can't get a win with my damn co-ed team. 0-0 first game and 1-1 the second!

p.s. co-ed D is kind of a joke

^Why do you say that? Is the talent level low? My team captain said he helped start Coed Over 30 when the talent level got too high in Coed D because of all the new teams starting that really belonged in Coed B. If any league is kind of a joke I would say it is probably Coed Over 30, but I am still enjoying it. It just sucks that there is one team in the league that came from Coed B that now dominates. I guess it makes them feel good when they know that they will never be challenged and win the league every season.

Well my Coed team sucks. We lost 6-0 to one of the better teams tonight. We have one girl that is ok, but the rest of the girls aren't that good and our GK isn't that great either. The top Coed Over 30 teams are damn good and play well together.

This really sucks for me because my Coed Over 30 league is a 9 team league, so someone has to take the week off always. Our off week is Thursday September 1st. That means the next time I will have a chance to play in a league game will be September 8th.

Also, we had Ajax tomorrow and then Newcastle in 2 weeks. That was a favorable schedule. I guess we'll just have to beat Newcastle and then Hibernian to get to 4-0-0 now!

Newcastle 6 Sporting 0

Newcastle had a different lineup tonight. Three of their worst players were gone and they had a lot of good young players who hadn't showed up yet this season. They'll win the league, if they keep playing like that with tonights lineup.

At least my Coed Over 30 team finally won on Thursday though and tomorrow the FVAA starts. I just wish they had made it 11 v 11, or 10 v 10 instead of 9 v 9. Oh well.

^That sucks. Now you just need to lose next weekend and then after that I'll wish you the best of luck.

Also, FVAA soccer blows. I had never scored a goal in my entire career until today when I scored 2. If people hadn't been so selfish and made the square pass today then my team could have had about 5 people get hat tricks. We still won 10-0 and didn't look good.

We also played 11 v 11 on a really short field. It was probably Centex A size. There were lots of fat people standing around and none of the defenders seemed to know how to draw me offside, so I just stood at the 18 yard box with them all game. One guy did tell me this is the worst he had ever seen it. There were maybe 3, or 4 of us that could hang in the lower divisions of TASL, but my Coed Over 30 team would win the FVAA title.

^Damn!

Anyway, the radar looks good down south tonight, so Saturday should be on.

Tonight I drove to my Coed Over 30 game since I didn't have the weather hotline number and I figured Durham is far enough away from the soccer center that it could still be dry in Raleigh. I could barely see while driving on I-540 and when I got to the soccer center my teammate rolled down her car window and said, "they just sent out an e-mail 15 minutes ago saying the games are off for tonight." Then I had to drive in it again until I got to I-440.

^So you're playing Men's Open A?

Anyway, wral says 50% chance of rain. Hopefully that holds out till about 6:00 pm at least. Like I said, it stayed dry down south. The patch of heavy rain went through Durham/North Raleigh/Wake Forest tonight. It did rain lightly in the south in some areas, but it wasn't enough to shut down grass fields this weekend.

Ugh! That's not the way I wanted to win that game. I wish your GK hadn't made that big open goal save and you had scored the last PK. Then we would have won 3-2.

Good luck the rest of the season Hibernian! I am pulling for you like always. You guys get Sheperds House United next week and as long as you have the minimum 7 guys show up then you should be able to win by a score of about 5-0. They totally suck.

2-1

We missed 2 PKs, went down to 9 men and had no subs. But we got beat fair and square, got outplayed.
And both Sporting goals were PKs too.

Yeah David was pretty Awesome today with those 2 PK saves.

YES IT WAS UGLY! I'm glad we won and we had to take care of business, but it was kind of like the time Michigan won the Orange Bowl in OT over Alabama because the kicker missed the game tying extra point. The Michigan coaches walked off the field feeling bad for the kicker. I would have rather seen the keepers fail to make some of those saves today and played in a nice 4-3 game. Both teams came close to getting some live action goals, but we didn't.

You guys will do alright this season, if you can get your forwards to show up. We would have lost had Mark, or Robbin been there.

Oh and your last rebound off the PK goal probably should have counted, if 4 seconds were really supposed to be played after the PK was taken. We got lucky.

My understanding is that you have to let that play out. If the ball goes out or is cleared the whistle can be blown, but to not even allow for the rebound to be played seemed strange to me.

^I think he blew the whistle after the shot was taken, but before the ball crossed the line. It was a strange ending. I was actually shocked that there was a PK because I could hear my oven clock going off for about 2 minutes before the PK was called. Usually there is about 1, or 2 minutes left on my clock when the ref ends the half, or game.

You guys have nothing to worry about though. I can see you getting multiple wins yet. We even beat Raleigh FC last year and finished with only 2 wins. Raleigh FC likes to argue with each other. Trust me, you'll win next weekend. SHU lost 6-0, 5-0, and 10-0. Their GK has butter fingers. Just follow your shots. Cary Gunners and RFC Ajax are beatable too. If Cary Gunners is still playing the 4-4-2 with the offside trap then your forwards will school them. Their CB looked a little shaky in the first half 2 games ago.

So David's wedding is today? He said he was going to miss some games because of his wedding and the mud run. We only have 11 showing up thanks to a funeral, wedding, and other people heading out of town for the weekend. So far we are averaging over 8 absences per game this season.

[rant]Anyway, my Coed Over 30 team blows! Our GK finally came back. We have played the 3 best teams when he was in the net and lost 9-1, 6-0, and 5-1. He won't even dive, or slide when there is a 1 vs 1 situation, or a shot on goal that isn't right at him. With our other guys filling in for him we have won 4-2, lost 2-1 on a late goal, and tied 2-2 after giving up a late goal. Those three teams were weaker, but we are just better with other guys in the goal. I'm glad he backed out on my offer last fall when my men's team didn't have a GK.[/rant]

Anyway I am excited about game 3 of 4 in 5 days for me tonight. It's another TWW Derby! harmemou vs me and aaronian!

well, we had 8 show up and instead of getting waxed, we just forfeited. Raleigh FC was cool enough to give us 3 guys and we stuck around to scrimmage. i think it was 6-3 or something. had some fun so it was probably the best outcome of us beings short on guys.

Well lost 4-1

We both started with 10, then we went up to 11, then down to 10, and then down to 9 because of 2 players cramping up in the second half. Aaron had a nice free kick that deflected off the wall and in the goal to make it 2-1 at the half.

Oh and David saved another PK though, so that is 3 in two games, so Hibernian shouldn't feel too bad about what happened last game. We decided that from now on, anytime the ball gets in our box we are just going to foul the other team.

our losses: 3-2, 3-2, 1-0, 4-0.

and then two ties. we could easily be like 5-1 if a couple of chances were finished.

^^ Yeah, there's no way we should have lost on Monday. Even the one goal I let in was kind of a fluke and kept us from getting anything out of the match. Still, we should be way higher than 8th in that league based on what I've seen from the other teams we've played. We've had so many chances where we were just once touch away from putting games away over the last few weeks and we've walked away with no points.

We lost 4-0 to Newcastle Saturday playing 11 v 7, and lost to Shepherds A-team tonight like 6-3.

We've watched those guys play this year and have played them enough to know that the team they put out tonight was NOT the same team they have had the rest of the season. Oh well.

^That sucks! Newcastle did that to us. They lost 2 games and then told me how they were going to be really good when their new players showed up. They've been kicking everyone's ass since.

I just wish we could get a better lineup when we play Garden City. We only had 13 last night. Every season it never fails, about 4 out of the best 11 players on my team are out. Once again I have 2 guys who joined the team and haven't made it to a single game yet. I don't know why people waste their money, if they aren't going to play.

^I couldn't either. I've only had 1, or 2 people make every game during any season since my team was formed because of work, weddings, and funerals, but that is kind of expected. Making 7+ games makes it worth while. Once you start missing 5+ games you have to question, if it was worth the money. The one guy who hasn't been to a game yet is in the Air Force reserve. He forgot his shoes during week 1, has had military duty about 2, or 3 times this season, and then had a wedding between reserve duty weekends. I had another USAF reserve on the team last fall. He joined 3 weeks into the season., played 1 week, injured his ankle and took a week off, had reserve duty twice, couldn't find the field one night, and then played in the last game of the season. Anyone in the military reserves probably shouldn't play on the weekend unless they know they will be at every game when they don't have reserve duty.

The other new guy this season signed up 3 weeks into the season and wants to go to all of the NC State home football games and for some reason he didn't come to our Sunday game either.

Sporting Raleigh's game was cancelled due to rain with a reschedule possibility still being unknown. Probably would've won today and ended up 5-5 though - a much better record than previous seasons.

Wingmen in Co-ed D got their first and only win against Ruckus FC on Tuesday. Easily one of the best performances all season from our team offensively. We had a lot of close games all season (numerous 1 goal losses and 3 ties).

If SRSC isn't rescheduled, I won't have another competitive soccer game for over a year.
