Server is updated for 1.7.2

All Plugins working, doing a new full map render with the updated DynMaps. Now zoom out works much farther away! Updated all the plugins, and looks like everything is working really smoothly

Sweet. I'm working on a piston elevator, but it's a bit complicated. Or maybe it's just a bug... sticky pistons cannot pull extended pistons. That makes the elevator one time use unless I can somehow have two timed circuits wrapped around it.

I have this really awesome lava/water gate controllable by pistons. The only problem is that the lava doesn't seem to dissipate after its source it cut off. It kind of just hangs in the air.

^^Yep I hit the same problem in messing with sticky pistons. They are only sticky to one block next to them and you cant chain them in reverse.

^Only water dissipates when its source is cut. Lava stays flowing even when it's source is removed.

I built a sweet piston gate on my home server. Then added some buttcheeks to make a lava-shitting ass with working sphincter. I wonder what my gf would say if I told her I spent 3 hours building a model of an ass in a video game.

will the store ever be updated for new items or is there any way to do it manually? I'd be willing to take a look at it if you can link me to the source for it.

notch really needs to refine redstone, make it right-clickable to determine neighbor connections or something

this whole making a 3d zigzag path so things don't touch is bullshit

I made one of the hidden doors as referenced in an online tutorial. It's an adaptation of the door in the official 1.7 piston demo video. I've changed it slightly to hide more of the circuitry and to add pressure plate entry triggers, and both a lock switch and hold-open switch on the inside. I added sufficient passageways and tunnels around the circuitry that you can get in and see how it all works.

it's crashing because you're doing something with pistons. Server restarted

Parks, I'd like to see if we can replicate the problem, sounds like a bug in CraftBukkit honestly.

Which texture pack is that, and is it good for the latest update? Vanilla is getting kind of old.

Photorealism.

http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/lb-photo-realism-pack-256x256/

It works with the latest server version. Just make sure to use the HD pack and you might want to run 64 bit java too. Seems to run more smoothly. It's awesome though. Can't go back to the default pack.

There's a bukkit 1.7.3 update out there for the latest server update. Should fix the piston issues.

^^^what kind of rig/video card are you running Photorealism on? I take it my 8800GTS512 probably won't cut it? I have 32-bit Win7 installed on it, AMD64X2 2-core2.6Ghz, 4GB RAM (yeah, yeah time to upgrade)... anyway I'm contemplating putting 64-bit Win7 and giving it a try... but I am thinking I will probably be disappointed.

I'm running W7 64 bit with an AMD Phenom X4 3.2Ghz quad core, 8Gb RAM, and an ATI Radeon HD 5700 card (50?, 70?) with 1Gb dedicated video memory, and it runs the 256x256 pretty solid. The only issue I seem to be having is that there is some flickering of the textures as I look around - not a framers issue, but more of maybe an AA issue. Any mods for that?

The 64x64 and 128x128 packs look pretty good too, so you can always try those.

i7 at 4ghz, 12 gigs ram, 2x460's in SLI.

Minecraft is all about the CPU though.

I think I ran into similar issues when I first installed the texture pack. Switching to 64 bit java for Minecraft solved that right off the bat. Takes up about 1.2 gigs of ram but runs smooth. Completely worth it.

Anything cool being built by anyone? Noen gave me motivation to build a laboratory for all sorts of testing, including explosives.

I'm looking at the possibility of using my own hardware for the server. Not saying it will happen at all or anytime soon, but something on the back burner.

It would mean we could run super-zany mods and plugins, because there'd be no memory cap or HDD shared access. Probably be a couple of months until I can really look into this though.

On a side note, how is everyone doing? I'm probably going to update the server to Bukkit build 1000 tomorrow, so there may be a little downtime.

Just restarted the server for the first time in two weeks. Seems to have been pretty stable

That'd be pretty cool! Server seemed to be a little laggy a few days ago, so I think a two week reset cycle might be the limit. My lab is done, so if you want to test huge redstone circuits or blow up lots of tnt in a big obsidian hole, let me know!

LB Photo Realism 256x256

http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/lb-photo-realism-pack-256x256/

To make it work you'll need to patch minecraft with this:

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/232701-611-update173-compatible-mcpatcher-hd-fix-210-02/

It probably wouldn't hurt to use 64 bit java and allocate some more memory to it:

So it's official. The company is gone.

There's still a good chance we'll get the server (and all data) back within the next day or two. Fortunately I upgraded to bukkit #1000 over the weekend, and did a full local backup.

So worst case, we lost 3-4 days of the server and I'll put it somewhere else
