Since JTMONEYNCSU has left us (Good night, sweet TWW prince), I figure I'll go ahead and start this for the new season.

Fixture list for the first few weeks:

Ashley Young just signed for Manchester United today.

Other big news is Andres Villas-Boas signing as Chelsea's new manager - "how long will that last," we all wonder.

Big push and pull between Chelsea and Spurs over Luka Modric. Will Modric stay at Spurs since they're not in the UCL this year?

The ever lasting Cesc to Barca rumor machine is in full gear - will he or won't he? Barca say they wont pay more than 35 million for him. Interesting because they're about to sign Alexis Sanchez for that price, who is rumored to be a City target as well.

Also, let's go ahead and get those team affiliation and final position predictions in.

kiljadn - Manchester United - Prediction: 1st

I don't get why Fabregas even wants to go to Barca anymore, other than just being a front running faggot

I was going to pick us to finish 3rd but I didn't want to make the same pick as aimorris. I figured I would be a little more optimistic.

Pumped for this season to start. Still over a month left though.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Cesc ends up in Madrid shirt instead.

*I reserve the right to change my Spurs prediction down or up depending on what happens in the transfer window*

I'll get us a new European thread when I get a second to sit down and work on it.

Man U: 1st*

*If Chelsea sign Modric and ManU don't get Sneijder or someone similar to fill the midfield playmaker void then ManU will finish 2nd to Chelsea and Mourinho Jr. If ManU get Sneijder I'm saying we go for a treble.

^^ Dude, I would love to see Cesc at RM, but with the signings they've already made, I see him getting less time there than he would at Barca.

^ I want Wesley, too. I hope they can make a deal for him. The more time that passes, the more time I have to get discouraged. What ever happened with the Nasri stuff? Haven't heard anything about that potential move in ages.

Chelsea definitely need to improve their midfield play, all Essien's knee troubles have made him slow. Lamps is getting old and Malouda is a world beater one game and a shit bum the next. Ramires showed some promise and Mikel is a decent holding midfield player.

If Torres can break his funk this team can be really dangerous.

I've actually been to Loftus Road, but it was for a Fulham game in '04. Maybe that's not a bad choice, though I have a feeling QPR and West Ham will be trading places after this year.

With rosters as they are today....

(1) Man United: too consistent, dont see VDS' departure dropping them a spot
(2) Chelsea: really good squad, will take some growing pains with VB, Torres, and drogba leaving
(3) Man City: still dont think theyre quite good enough for 1/2, but, too much talent and they had last year to gel
(4) Liverpool: fingers crossed, more 'solid' than arsenal, more finishing than spuds
(5) Arsenal: i think theyll drop out of the top-4 due to a lack defensive solidarity
(6) Spuds: strikers? unless defoe turns it around, 'looking better' than the other team wont win any games
(7) Everton: should they wake up before 2012
(8) Villa: eh, i figure their mid-table team is better than stoke/s'land/wba/fulham/blackburn

Not a good start for the first Welsh premier club if the ban holds.

I think no Euro footy distraction helps us concentrate on the league. ManU's ancient central midfield finally collapses and AVB leads Chelski to the title

De Gea's having his United physical right now.

Apparently we are being linked to Thiago Alcantera as well - although Barca would want a buy-back clause after the whole Fabregas saga. It's funny though, I doubt Cesc would want to leave Arsenal if they actually won shit. If Alcantera came to United, he wouldn't have to worry about winning things.

Is there any possibility the Spurs can vie for a Champions League spot?

If Arsenal can't rein in its best personnel, Tottenham might stumble into the CL again. However, Spurs' opening schedule is brutal and Liverpool, which finished 4 points behind them last season, is on the ascendancy.

Same shit, different season. Nowhere to be seen in the transfer market translates to same old under performing Everton. The real question is which half of the season they'll choose to go on their terrible run of form.
