We're back on track, for now

submitted by CrazyJ on Wednesday, November 29 2000 at 11:13 PM

Most of you guys probably noticed we had a major outage today. The Wolf Web was out of commission for over 7 hours dead in the middle of peak usage. You can thank Time Warner Cable and their lovely customer service. Apparently a router near The Abbey went a little haywire and started dropping 80% of outbound packets. I haven't seen things dropped like that since the performance Eric Leak gave in the NCSU-Maryland football game (yeah, I know that was a stretch, but I'm trying to find a little humor in all of this ;))

Anyway, lets keep our fingers crossed and hope all the problems are behind us.

UPDATE : Doesn't look like we are in the clear just yet. The TWC drones have been scurrying around here in the last couple hours looking for something else to screw up.

I nearly had to reprioritize my life. Instead I just took a nap.

At least we aren't plagued by "Internal Server Errors" like some other web-boards

The Abbey has the worst cable connection I've seen. When it works it's ok but it cuts out every day.
