I ain't got no oven in Raleigh to cook a steak. You expect me to get an Airbnb?

I'm so old now I feel like North Hills would be a reasonable place to live.

No laughs from me. The food is great there. Good recommendation.

the last couple of steaks I had at an Outback were cut across the grain and had a horrible texture. I don't think I'll ever go back.

I'd rather cook steaks at home. The local wegmans sells dry aged USDA prime ribeyes for $27/lb occasionally. I'd rather go out for something that takes more effort, like crab cakes or oysters.

[Edited on February 10, 2018 at 5:57 PM. Reason : and what's wrong with a steak cut across the grain?]

should have clarified they were cut diagonally across the grain. it makes them a lot tougher to cut and chew. a properly cut steak should be cut directly across the grain, so that you slice and chew with the grain.

^^^ that makes 0 sense. And if you like cooking your own dry-aged prime steaks what the hell are you doing at Outback?

[Edited on February 11, 2018 at 12:39 AM. Reason : Costco's Prime steaks are $20/lb, not $15]

Went to Sullivan's last night for the second time ever. It was oh so tasty. Possibly the best steak I've ever had.

shucking oysters is messier and more effort than seasoning and cooking a steak. I also have to drive about an hour to find a decent seafood market that carries Blue Points, Chincoteague, PEI, and bay oysters without wanting more than $1 each for them. I can get a decent steak from the Wegmans that's directly on my way home from work.

I did oysters at home last week, but only because I had a meeting out of town and the seafood market was on the way home. I get crabs from the same place in the summertime, but I still enjoy having someone else prepare a crabcake for me.

once was using a gift card someone gave me, and the other time a client wanted to go there. I'm not eating prime every time I cook a steak either. Outback just doesn't seem to offer a steak worthy of the price tag attached to it.

Their "Special" Sirloin starts at $10/meal and is pretty good imo

[Edited on February 11, 2018 at 12:48 PM. Reason : But yeah I don't order filets and ribeyes from there]

Goddamn. I just got done eating about 14 oz of filet. And it was the best I’ve had in quite some time. I’d beat my dick if I didn’t already feel like I came in my pants to the point of filling my shoes with jizz. Done here at the house with asparagooses and goddamn garlic mashed potatoes.
