How is the Jupiter Hotel to stay at?

I might be canceling the hotel I have and staying there. They have a pretty sweet AAA discount.

Some people on TripAdvisor said it can get pretty noisy if you are in one of the rooms that overlooks the bar.

What about the rooms that face the Bamboo Courtyard?

yeah they do chicken fingers and fries...if you got it to-go, your fries would be soggy as shit when you get home because they use styrofoam to-go plates.....chicken fingers weren't all that good anyway

WHAT DID YOU SAY??

i would compare it to Zaxby's, with Zaxby's being a lot better

I lived in the midwest for a while, and my local friends loved the deep fried tacos late night dipped in ranch.

also, interesting fact: most of the simpsons characters are based on street names in portland.

visit deschutes brewery while youre there. theyre actually connected to raleigh because they have the old greenshields brewing equipment. i absolutely loved henry's too. i hope you enjoy porters and bourbon aged beers!

I changed our hotel again in Portland

I think this will be the 4th hotel I've reserved in Portland.

Now we are staying at the Residence Inn Portland North Harbor. Its a little farther away from downtown but we'll have a car so it won't be so bad. For $53/night for a 1 bedroom suite w/ complimentary breakfast, I won't complain. I got a travel agent's discount on the hotel. We probably won't eat the free breakfast just b/c there are tons of places we want to try for breakfast. But we will probably just get coffee there

on TV, it looked like it was packed, but i imagine people scalp outside

wouldnt think they would charge too much

the game was vs. the Seattle team, so they might be rivals or something, being so close

I live about 45 minutes south of portland in the woods! I'm not a huge fan of portland, but I am a huge fan of the wilderness that surrounds portland. You're within 2 hours in every direction of some of the most scenic areas in the country.

As for the weather, its good from late june to the end of October (we're having a particularly wet year this year).

If you want to rent a house/apt for a reasonable price, start looking now. Every 20 something in the NW wants to live in portland, and because of that, its nearly impossible to get a place to stay.

^^^no, I applied for the job a couple weeks ago

I also replied to that nike talent scout that messaged me on LinkedIn, but she hasn't replied either

I would probably want to live as close to the campus as possible (Beaverton), especially if I could just bike there every day

It was an Industrial Engineering position, I guess them not responding for a good week and a half means no offer. But i would have loved to moved out to the West. Weather is not as hot/cold as some of the places in the east. Nike is where i kinda want to end up in my career so I'm gonna still continue to apply.

i can't believe no one has mentioned Powell's Used Books yet. I've been to Portland once (dated a girl that lives in Seattle and day-tripped it) and I liked it much better than Seattle. Clean city, cool people, liberal, educated, and these are all positives in my book. Also supposed to be a pretty good local music scene, and has stolen the coffee thing from Seattle.

I have heard that you get used to the rain. I struggled with it, but would still rather live in the northwest than in the southeast with the heat and humidity.

Good luck with the job.

I went to Powell's City of Books. That place was overwhelming! I found a few books. We were kind of pressed for time when we went there but I could see spending an entire day or two there just looking at their sections of books.

We ate at this really cool conveyor belt sushi restaurant called Sushi Land. It was cheap and good. Husband and I were able to stuff ourselves with sushi and a bottle of sake for $17.00

Yeah for the entire week that I was in Seattle and Portland, the temperature never got above 72

it was so nice

People in Portland were bitching that it was "colder than usual". I told each of them how I was ok with it

My understanding is that the law is aimed to allow self-serve at any station in OR with the more sparsely populated counties going fully self-serve and stations in other more populated areas the option to keep attendants if they so wish.

Couple coworkers in our OR facility were pretty happy at not having to wait to fill up - especially those that have lived outside OR and NJ
