Word of wise, if you dont have GF outside your neighborhood/main road today, dont ever expect to get it at this point. Theyve effectively shut down running main lines, and are only connecting neighborhoods that have mainlines run outside them. They never installed several Raleigh huts, the Garner hut, and one of the Cary ones.

Carrboro hut was installed like half a mile from me, but no idea if they ever did a damn thing more than that.

What a fucking tease.

Anyway to know if they did or did not?

There are fairly new GFBR boxes in the ground in Five Points. I'm on the 300 block of Georgetown and we don't have any, but the 200 block does. They look fairly fresh, so I'm just hoping that they just haven't gotten to my block yet....hard to imagine they would just stop.

Anything new to talk about here? I'm guessing it's fair to lose all hope of getting it in my area of Cary at this point?

Probably called the Google Fiber store in Raleigh. The "community managers" have no real info sadly but are full of optimism (and bullshit, sadly).

I was walking in the residential area near Duraleigh Corners on Monday and saw a Google Fiber van parked next to an AT&T van in a community parking lot. It looked like the drivers were residents rather than doing work over there, but hey, the point is that the vans are still around.

I know some streets in that area get AT&T Fiber, so maybe there's a chance that Google Fiber will make it out there as well.

HOA at my apartment complex met with a Google Fiber rep last week. They're working up a site plan and said the install will be complete by end of year, so they are still expanding, at least in areas where lines are already run to the curb.

when they finally flip the switch and activate the properties that are already wired in downtown Raleigh, I'll be convinced that they're actually doing something. these fuckes are certainly taking their sweet ass time.

^^They said something similar to our HOA in late 2015, even had engineers review a few homes to see where they would need to run fiber to

awww yeah. got the email that they're accepting sign-ups for the neighborhood, so I signed up. I have no idea when they're going to install it, but I'm a fiber customer now (sorta I guess).

I did not - unless they're at the store 24/7

I walked through that same place near Duraleigh Corners again this past weekend. The Google Fiber van was in the lot still, and I'm pretty sure it was in the same spot, so the driver's almost certainly a resident.

This. If they're just now doing the site plan, they might get around to think about installing by the end of the year...in 2020.

Some dude on FB was saying that his house value is going up in Chapel Hill because of Google Fiber. I laughed st him and said I live half a mile from the Carrboro Fiber Hut and ain't one person been connected to that yet so I don't think when he sells his house next year, the imminent prospect of Google Fiber is going to be a selling point for him, seeing as they have never even built the Chapel Hill Fiber Hut.

Brier Creek area, Walmart side of 70. The other side has had it for a while now. Fucking elitists.

They're installing this month up on the ACC Blvd area, maybe going down Leesville next? Or further down Glenwood towards downtown?

they've been working on installations just north of millbrook since day 1. fuckers stopped in their tracks all of a sudden after marking my yard and digging a few houses the next street over. i'd be surprised if they actually reach completion and do sign-ups by the end of the year.

I like ATT fiber. It's great. $50 for 300 up and down.

Going to miss it when I move this week.

Got a flyer in my door advising me that Google Fiber would be doing some construction in my neighborhood soon. I live near Duraleigh and Glenwood.
