The French director chose the wrong trial. they needed to do the Bradley Cooper Trail.

I read a Q/A with the director and they had planned on video tapping both side, but the prosecution changed their minds 4 months in. the SBI was pretty terrible back then, but the family as a whole is crazy.

It’s been out for a while now, but tonight I started Dark. I watched the first 3 episodes, and I’m totally hooked, i fucking love it. It’s kind of like a German mashup of Donnie Darko and Stranger Things.

Father of the Year has to be one of the worse movies I've seen in a while. David Spade just isn't funny anymore. I wonder now if he was ever really funny to start with. And that odd New England accent he had was just horrible.

Ok to be fair, I've never seen his stand up.

Don't get me wrong, I love Joe Dirt. But man, his newer stuff just hasn't been that good.

The French version of Beauty and the Best (film, not a Netflix Original) is also breathtakingly good. It has the actress from Blue is the Warmest Color.

I liked Insatiable

American Vandal season 2 came out on Friday. Binged it all in one day. I think it was better than season 1

Man. The last half of season 2 was so bad. The son’s subplot was unbearable. The acting is still top notch at least. Looking forward to season 3.

I'm about halfway through season 1 and really enjoying it. Is this based on a true story at all, or just a dramatization of how the FBI began profiling serial killers? They are doing a good job of setting up something big with the BTK killer, so hope it pays off.

Season 1 was great.

^

BTK wasn't caught until 2005. It will be interesting how this play's out since it's only 1980 on the show.

From the shows wiki

Quote :
"The character of Holden Ford is based on FBI agent John E. Douglas,[20] on whose book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit the show is based. The character of Bill Tench is based on pioneering FBI agent Robert K. Ressler.[20][21] Wendy Carr is based on psychiatric forensic researcher Ann Wolbert Burgess,[22] a prominent Boston College professor who collaborated with the FBI agents in the Behavioral Science Unit and procured grants to conduct research on serial murderers, serial rapists, and child molesters.[23][24] Her work is based on treating survivors of sexual trauma and abuse, and studying the thought process of violent offenders.[24] The serial killer characters were modeled on the actual convicted criminals and their prison scene dialogues were taken from real interviews.[25] Although not explicitly stated, it is implied that the ADT serviceman seen in several short vignettes throughout the first season is Dennis Rader, the BTK Killer.[26][27] This is clarified in the second season.[28] "

Finished the only season of I-Land.

I liked it, though some things could have been obviously improved.

I wonder if there will be a Season 2, as the ending kind of ended the whole story, but there are ways to get back to the I-Land.

+2 on Living With Yourself

Also, I'm pretty excited for The Witcher. I'm a big fan of the books and the games, so seeing this on screen is a treat. Even if I'm not 100% sold on Cavill as Geralt.

Dolemite was one of the best films that I have seen all year. It was like an inspirational family movie, only with tits and foul language. Eddie Murphy and Snipes took a lot of risk with this movie, but it really paid off.

+1 for Dolemite. It was like The Disaster Artist except good (maybe because it was about making a better movie with a guy who had real drive and vision)

I didn't expect to like Daybreak but decided to check out the first episode and then ended up binging the whole season. Enjoyed it much more than I expected to, really hope it gets a 2nd season.
