Finley looked "OK" against UNC, but pretty sure all of his passes were <10 yards and were attacking the boundaries and using TEs. Obviously his day looks different if Parham makes that TD instead of turning it into a pick.

2021 is going to depend on Leary, IMO. If he goes down, season expectations go in the shitter and you're using the rest of the year to see what you have with your other QBs. Don't think anyone would expect Lil' Finley to slide in and give us 8 wins like we had this year with Hockman.

That being said, it really wouldn't surprise me to see McLaughlin move into the #2 role. It's all going to depend on how fast he picks up the offense, but his mechanics and throwing have already looked improved based on some HS tape and reports. The other weird thing is, the dude is going to be 20 as a true FR, so physically he's certainly ready to contribute right away. Not saying he couldn't use a true RS year, but if he can pick up the offense enough to bridge the mental gap between him and Lil' Finley, think he could certainly move ahead of him or maybe even warrant some special packages for him in the redzone. Dude is built like Josh Allen, could certainly be useful in the power running game when we're inside the 10.

I mean, to be fair, I was saying that the season is going to be a throw away if Leary goes down. This year we only had Leary 3 games and won 8 games, I don't think we win 8 games next year if Leary goes down. It's why I don't see the advantage of bringing in a transfer QB.

If Leary goes down early in the season, you basically turn it into a chance to evaluate what you have in Finley and McLaughlin. With the whole double FR class, you now have Finley and McLaughlin in the same class, so it seems unlikely they both hang around for a couple of years, esp if McLaughlin beats out Finley for the #2 spot. I've seen it suggested we bring in a transfer QB to push Leary and/or give us a legitimate back-up option(Hooker seemed to be a popular name), but I don't think you're going to be able to find a solid transfer option that doesn't have a legit chance to start.

Parham and CJ Riley didn't walk on SR day, so they're both expected back.
Ingram is confirmed to be back.
Autenrieth posted before the Cuse game it was the "last road game of my football career", so he's believed to be done.
Tyrone Riley is the only question-mark at this point.
