i bought this game tonight, damn... it is sweet. pretty complicated, but definitely one hell of a game.

can you play more than two players? on the back of the box it says 1-2 Players and then says Multi-Tap 1-8 Players. Some buddies and I tried to play but we could only get it to let us do 1 vs 1, even though the box appears to say you can use more....

?

how does it compare to the EA games of the past few years?

The buttons are a lot different as far as I can tell. The gameplay seems to run a lot smoother too. After a play, it doesn't let you do all that non-sense throwing around the field... it just gets the ball to the cutoff or throws it around the horn while the next batter comes up to the plate. I recently bought the NCAA game on EA Sports, and I live this game much better. I haven't played it enough to really tell you much more about it, but it definitely looks and seems to play a lot better than the games of the last few years.

Definitely worth the purchase.

Does it have an in depth minor league system?

How is the free agent/trade system? In other words is there a 'fair trade' option..

How is the actualy dynasty portion?

it has 2 fully playable minor leagues, AA and AAA. It has a TON of real minor leaguers...basically anyone who has ever had one at bat/appearance in a major league game.

The free agent thing is different this season. It has a bidding for free agents.

Yes, it has fair trades.

It is the best baseball game Ive ever played, if you wanna check it out NyM410, lemmie know and you can bring a controller over and get your ass kicked.

I don't have a PS2 anyway, but if I did I would still wait for MLB 2K6. I have it pre-ordered and shit.

One more question. Do they allow you to edit the players names and such.. I only ask because I like to download the updated minor league rosters like I did for MVP..

Also, do the minor leaguers match up in everything but name?

the minor leaguers that arent real cannot have their names edited and dont match up.

you can create players though and put them in the free agent pool, then exchange them out

damn.. i like to have the top level prospects that aren't far away from the majors there with the names (like Milledge, Pelfrey, Humber, etc for the Mets).. maybe I'll just stick with MVP 05..

fwiw... Freddie Bynum is a guy who is down from the Snow Hill/Greenville area. He's on the A's roster. He's definitely a rookie this year. It hasn't been too long since Freddie was playing legion ball in eastern NC. He was in Double A/Triple A last year.

^^I'm pretty sure Lastings Milliage is on there. If they even got a cup of coffee in their career....they are in the game.

The cool thing to me was that they had Damon shaved in the game. haha. I guess they used one of his pre-caveman pictures.

and check your PMs, NyM....i wanna throw the baseball around

I know it was talked about last year on this board, but what's up with an intramural baseball league?

I had a option of walking on here, but walkin on blows and club baseball takes up too much time. Definitely interested in intramural ball.

You get a free hat when you buy MLB The Show as well, pretty lame lookin hat, but they give you a card and you go to neweracap.com and pick out a hat you want... Free, no shipping and handling or anything. But ugly ass hats, especially if you're a A's fan.

yes, it's good. though there is currently some bug with your Road to the Show progress. have to do some workaround where you put your RTTS player on your Diamond League team or whatever it's called, and play an at-bat with your dude, then quit the game. Then it will register your hits, plate appearances, etc.

was really hoping this would come to PC...instead I have to resort to playing it on my old Xbox 1S. Still a good time though. Really enjoying diamond dynasty...when the servers work.

MVP baseball especially 2004 has a special place in my heart but.. I was 20 years old when it came out and smoking cigarettes on my dorm balcony in-between games. 06-20 were pretty dark days for xbox mlb gaming save for the bigs 1/2
