^^^^ Yeah, you should totally listen to the nerd who spends all his time on a website where literally no one likes him.Give her a good tip and shoot her your best smile. You're not trying to buy your way into a relationship, you're trying to create as good an impression as possible without being creepy and opening a door for her to walk through. Try to order at the same time every week. It will make you stand out in her mind more if she remembers you as that nice guy who orders every Thursday around 8:00 pm.[Edited on March 31, 2012 at 3:53 PM. Reason : ]

well she does knows me alreadyyay

Well you're halfway there. You have two options.#1 - The non-creepy option is what I've already told you and that plan has the endorsement of a girl who posted in this thread.#2 - The incredibly creepy option. Don't answer your door when she knocks, make her call your phone to get a hold of you. Then you have her number. But she will probably never reply to you if you call her.

personally giving her a decent tip (not over the top, that would feel a little cheap) but she is working so pay her for her job, and a tiny bit more than you would for the fat guy who takes a bite out of your delivery. Use good body language ... and don't answer the door in pajamas.

As a girl who works in the service industry, if you are trying to hit on a waitstaff or delivery person: - Leave an above average tip around 20%. Too much gives off the wrong impression. Too little is like wtf. -write your number on the receipt so she has the option to call you and the pressure of making any decisions immediately is gone. If she is actually interested and has some gumption she will call. If she is too shy then it's probably not going to work out anyways.-An even better idea if it is early enough in the night is to say that you will be at _______ later in the evening and it would be great to see her there. -If she has actually been chatting you up chances are she likes you so put the moves on her already.

^Thats pretty decent of you to tip based on the "actual cost" of something. Usually I don't expect anything when someone is using a gift certificate or coupons. But I can totally understand it from the other perspective. If I was eating out somewhere and had a free dinner I wouldn't really think about tipping. (although of course I do because of my job)yeah, some people might think that they tip great if they tip about 15%, but this is pretty standard. These are the customers that I don't really remember. But I never forget people who are on either end of the spectrum.

I too tip based on total cost... bartenders that comp me drinks get tipped based off what the total should have been + a lil usually

Different service jobs have different tipping requirements as well.If you are a server at a sit down restaurant and work mostly for tips, you pretty much need the 15% to make it worth your time for working somewhere. If a small table gets turned over quickly after 30 minutes or so and the bill is like $15 or something, a 15% tip of $2.25 isn't so bad. A few tables an hour tipping at this rate should net about $10/hr which is not terrible. Higher bills either mean large parties, higher end restaurants, or a table staying for several hours. No matter the cause, it takes up more of the server's time and lowers the amount they could possibly make for a shift. A $70 bill is almost always going to mean that a lot of attention and work was required to provide their service and a higher tip is necessary to justify time and effort spent providing that service. 15% ends up being a pretty solid all-around percentage.Delivery drivers, on the other hand, have overhead they have to pay for in the form of a car and fuel. Delivery restaurants often provide little, if any, reimbursement for mileage and wear and tear on the driver's car. Time spent on the largest orders is usually not that much longer than the smallest orders, so reimbursing for time is less important. More effort is required for larger orders, but drivers generally keep all of their tips and increased effort is really only marginal. Therefore, a $5 tip on a $50 delivery order only comes out to 10% but it's not really considered a bad tip. A bit stingy, maybe, but not bad. Whereas if you place a small order for $7-8, a tip of $2 would be considered fairly typical since the driver has to rag their car out and use the same amount of fuel to deliver to you as a $200 order would. $2 on an $8 delivery would not be considered a good tip even though it's 25%. The customer needs to take into account the driver's cost in delivering to you. Generally for delivery drivers anything over $3 is pretty good unless it's an unusually large order. That's not to say that you should limit yourselves to tipping these amounts. Tip your service job people as much as your economy and conscious allows. If you're a repeat customer or recognized, tipping even slightly above average will usually buy you the absolute best service an employee can provide. But yeah, tipping like $4-5 is your best bet so you don't come across as cheap or overly eager and maximize your opportunity to put it in her butt.
