The home team never loses when they have one of these banner raising nights.

They should have had Ron Francis Night in the playoffs.

The first period we did pretty good. After that our skating was terrible and we just had to play Brodeur on one of his good nights.

Oh well, I guess you can't win them all......

^^ GTFO. Cam has more pure talent than Gerber by quite a bit. Gerber is a more complete goaltender at the stage of his career, has better rebound control, and is a better stickhandler. His save timing is outstanding, but outside of stickhandling, Cam has a better sense of game management and more ability to pull out a save on an unstoppable shot.

Ah, Boucher and Chokemanek. The greatest goaltending tandem of all time.

It makes me sad that a team that once fielded keepers like Parent, Lindbergh, and Hextall has been stuck with absolute shit in goal for a decade by an inept GM.

While we're on the subject of things new hockey fans should be aware of, I found a video of the infamous 'Punch-Up in Piestany': http://media.putfile.com/0738

Hedican was added to the US Olympic roster today, and Cullen was added to the taxi squad.

^^^ wow that's crazy. i was involved in a few fights when i played hockey, but nothing like that. i actually never started the fights, it was always the other guy acting like a jackass.

^^^ Good to hear about Hedican. Kind of weird that they added Cullen to the taxi squad, though; won't he still be out throught he Olympics with the jaw injury?

EDIT: Nevermind, according to an article "Cullen is nearing a near miracle recovery from a broken jaw that originally was supposed to keep him out of action four to six weeks but he avoided surgery and is slated to play Thursday at Tampa."

^^ At first I was really surprised that they sent Ladd down to Lowell, but now that I think about it, I guess doing this will allow him to continue playing through the Olympic break.

EDIT: Nevermind to this as well, apparently they have recalled him again and he will play tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if they send him back down for the Olympics, though. And once Vasicek gets healthy, it may still be tough to squeeze him into the lineup.

Ladd just went down to play one game and get a full game's worth of shifts because he only had ~3 minutes TOI at Jersey.
