LOL. Don't get me wrong, I also loathe Liefeld. But for so many reasons, I totally love Cable. That's also probably due to my stopping reading all X-titles shortly after the whole Onslaught crap. I never had any knowledge of the whole Psimitar thing, Cable's powers going haywire, Soldier X, or any of that, and I still largely don't. I was all about Nicieza's writing and Churchill's artwork. VERY big guns, Greymalkin, Professor, not ever really knowing who Cable was, and that kind of thing. Xecutioner's Song was what originally drew me in, and the first limited series with Six Pack was the nail in the coffin. Ah, those were good days.

I am glad they are putting Gambit and Beast in movie. Those have been my fav X-men since I was a kid. I think they will make the movie completely....I would like to see a couple more kool villians tho...Omega Red being top my list.

How does Kitty make such a big splash in the movie? I don't really remember much about her character from the comics...

I think your right...I got over anxious...I was never an Angel fan...I think he character is boring, if they want to bring another flying X-man, then go ahead and develop Rouges character and let her go ahead and zap Mrs. Marvel and run with that...

Vaughn's left the production. And FOX may or may not be going after Whedon to replace him.

Quote :
"20th Century Fox and Marvel Entertainment set Brett Ratner on Friday night to replace Matthew Vaughn as the director of X-Men 3, reports Variety. Shooting will start in August for a Memorial Day weekend 2006 opening date.

A comic book enthusiast, Ratner was among the helmers considered to direct the first X-Men. The job went to Bryan Singer instead. Ratner then spent a full year developing Superman Returns, the film that ultimately prompted Singer to drop out of directing "X3."

The trade adds that the "X3" budget is locked, and Fox and Marvel brass consider the script by Zak Penn and Simon Kinberg to be at least as strong as that of the first two installments. The original returning stars have been signed, and the cast is bolstered by Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut and Lost star Maggie Grace as Kitty Pryde (aka Shadowcat).

Fox's hiring of Ratner also means that Rush Hour 3 will most certainly miss New Line's projected fall start and summer 2006 release dates. Ratner directed the first two films in that series and seemed certain to make the third, but Chris Tucker's unwillingness to sign his $20 million deal in timely fashion scotched those plans."

If my friend actually read the real script and not some fake or decoy, then this movie will indeed suck complete ass and I'll be in tears...

FUCK YOU HALLE BERRY!

Seriously though, you've got to think of it from an actor's standpoint. If you're getting offers to have a starring role in a movie where most if not all of the movie is focused on you, you would more than likely get paid more, Storm was basically a cameo in X1, and in X2 the only thing more she had to do was a new haircut and a couple of scenes. Her problem with those was that she was still around for the ENTIRE movie shoot, and was only in the movie for a brief amount of time, so I can totally understand her not really wanting to commit to the project and having a small ass role but being forced to stick around for the entire shoot.

That sounds like a producer problem. One of their jobs is to organize the production schedule so that an A-list talent isn't sitting around for most of the shoot doing nothing.

From the other thread that was locked:

Quote :
"How'd you get a hold of this script review, anyway? From what you've said, it sounds like you've just read the comments from one of the guys at Ain't It Cool.

I believe them, but passing yourself off as in the know...lame."

The person who wrote the review is my friend. He has read the script, written a review for AICN, and it will be posted this week.

I'm not trying to pass myself off as anything. Just passing along some interesting information that was provided to me. As stated in the other thread, I will link the story (if I remember) when it gets posted.

That isn't the script review, but AICN refers to it as:

Quote :
"Well - I haven't read the script - so I can't say anything good about it. The review Moriarty got is pretty fucking scary - and he'll have that for you as soon as his computer gets back online."

That "review that Moriarty got" is the one my friend wrote. So that's where I'm basing this information. So I guess I'll have the link whenever this Moriarty guy gets his computer back onilne.

"So what about the spoilers that Aintitcoolnews posted regarding death of mutants and sex scenes? According to Simon the script that Moriarty was referring to was 4 months old and was actually the first 88 pages of a rough draft. Bottom line is that the script that AICN was referring to is different to the one that is being prepped right now.

So will Gambit make it to the film? "He is not a major character in the film," says Simon.

Simon also shared some insight on the work that Spectral Motion will be doing for the film and about Matthew Vaughn's departure from the film."

"Actor Alan Cumming has announced on his official site that he will not be playing Nightcrawler in the next "X-Men" movie. According to the post, 20th Century Fox chose not to pick up his option to play the character in the flick.

Cumming joined the franchise in "X2" playing the blue skinned tattooed mutant who could teleport. He was under contract for "X3" although it was an experience he is probably happy to get out of after onthe record complaints about the arduous make-up process and on-set feuding with "X2" helmer Bryan Singer."
