Both parties do it, and will do it. Don't act all high and mighty about it."

Are you seriously trying to use Florida, in the 2000 election......as an example of voter suppression.....

Ron Paul did not campaign in florida at all because he knew he could not win it and it's an all or nothing state.

Most Ron Paul funding comes from individuals that donate directly to him. Why donate to a PAC when you can give money directly to the campaign?

PACs are important for candidates like Obama and Romney that have lots of big-time donors. These are politicians that are essentially on Goldman Sach's payroll.

Spain essentially has the same problem that the United States has. The difference is that their situation has come to a head sooner because they can't create Euros. The U.S., of course, can and does create dollars, but the rate at which dollars are being created is not sustainable.

It's called "The Ron Paul" effect

Texas Congressman Ron Paul, who has said he’ll step down from office at year end, has inspired a crop of candidates who are running for office on his "libertarian" platform.

Quote :
"The anti-war Paul has been a favorite among members of the U.S. military, something his campaign contribution records clearly demonstrate. Paul -- a veteran of both the U.S. Air Force and the Texas National Guard -- has taken in more than $333,000 among members of the military who donated more than $200 since Jan. 1, 2011, according to an analysis from the Center for Responsive Politics. In comparison, members of the armed forces have contributed $184,505 to Obama and only $45,738 toward presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney's campaign.

However, there was a noticeable shift in those contributions in March. That month's Super Tuesday primary contest effectively sealed Romney's position as the presumed GOP nominee after he won six of the 10 states on the ballot, including delegate-rich Ohio.
...
In total, Paul's campaign only brought in $17,733 from the armed forces last month -- still more than Romney ($8,630) but less than half of what was contributed to Obama's re-election effort ($36,448).

It's truly amazing that Republicans can continue to pimp themselves out as the only "patriotic" party in politics and label all opposition as "weak" and not supportive of the troops.

And people still eat that shit up and vote for them, too. What the fuck, america?

The way that the US has divorced our military from our civilians is a remarkable feat. I honestly am starting to think that the only way to curb our hawkish attitude toward war would be to re-institute the draft. If the wars hit more American homes at random (assuming we had a truly random draft and not some thinly veiled class-based draft) then I think more average Americans would be averse to sending their kids off to die in middle eastern theaters that pose no risk to American livelihood.

Well, that, and a media that actually did its job and reported the news.

The woman running against Goodlatte in Virginia is a truther, and a Ron Paul Libertarian that ran against him in 2010 got 9%. I spoke with him at an event once and learned that a big part of his platform was exposing the link between his child's autism and vaccines.

Wins four and a half of six congressional district caucuses, securing 111 of 150 or 74 percent of delegates elected yesterday to the state convention

Supporters of 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul won yesterday’s Louisiana caucus, securing an overwhelming majority of winnable delegates to the June Republican state convention that will affect the weight of the Paul delegation to the August Republican National Convention in Tampa.

Greater NOLA Republicans:

Quote :
"
The Greater New Orleans Republicans call for the resignation of the leadership of the Republican Party of Louisiana in response to the debacle of today’s caucus.

“We congratulate Ron Paul supporters for apparently capturing their first state delegation in this Presidential election cycle through an excellent get out the vote effort today,” stated GNOR Chairman Sarah Roy.  “However, the result of this ill-conceived and confusing caucus clearly does not represent the will of the vast majority of Louisiana Republican voters as Ron Paul recently received only six percent of the vote in the Louisiana Presidential Primary.”

This odd and undemocratic result unfortunately will embarrass and distract Governor Jindal, as he labors to pass his Legislative agenda, and presumed Presidential nominee Mitt Romney, as he clinches the nomination and turns his attention to defeating President Barack Obama.

Several members of GNOR ran in the caucus, and GNOR, along with the Romney Campaign, attempted to motivate Republican voters to turn out.  However, sparse and obscure voting locations, morning voting hours, scheduling during the Zurich Classic, Jazz Fest and Legislative Session, combined with setting the caucus so late in the Primary season that all major challengers to Mitt Romney had dropped out, made it all but impossible to offer voters a rationale to caucus.

Further, after Rick Santorum, who garnered the most votes in the Louisiana Primary, left the race, members of GNOR proposed a unity ticket, comprised of supporters of Santorum, Gingrich and Romney, allowing those who would support the eventual nominee to run as one.  However, state party leaders, unwilling to share delegates with the Romney campaign, vetoed the approach.

Today’s debacle clearly lies at the feet of State Party leaders, who with combined arrogance and incompetence, ignored warnings that the Byzantine system they had conjured could be manipulated, ignored calls for unity and common sense, and instead caused the State of Louisiana, Governor Jindal and likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney embarrassment.  They should own up to their misdeeds and resign."

Pretty much what you get when you rely on Fox News and the rest of the MSM to tell you that Romney has the nomination so there is no point in going to a caucus.

This could work in our favor!

See the problem is the analysis is all backwards.

Ron Paul only got six percent of the vote due to election fraud. The majority of people DO want Ron Paul.

This wasn't a case of the "lazy romney voter" not turning out to the delegate process because they thought romney already won.

This was a case of Ron Paul having the majority the whole time.

Ron Paul has the majority of voters. The majority of Romney supporters you talk to don't care about politics and don't bother to read about politics or care to be a part of the process.

The only reason they have an opinion at all is because they repeat what they hear the news say that airs on commercial breaks between television shows.

"URGENT! Massachusetts District 8 Provisionals

Daily Paul Liberty Forum

Just got this email and thought it good to let everyone know about the contents from Doug Bennett:

Friends of Liberty,

Yesterday we nearly toppled the establishment at the Braintree Town Hall at the District 8 Republican Caucus. However, the final vote counts are still not in yet. As of yesterday, we were only 3 votes shy of winning the caucus and the MassGOP still has to count 9 Provisional Votes.

We believe that all 9 Provisional Ballots are for the Ronald Reagan Liberty Slate.

However, the MassGOP are up to their old sneaky games and they are refusing to tell us the names and addresses of these voters who cast these Provisional Votes so we can provide proof that these voters registered in time before February 15th.

One voter who cast a Provisional Vote, she is from West Bridgewater, registered Republican on February 14th and tomorrow will be getting an affidavit from her Town Clerk to prove she did so so that her vote will count towards are total in the Delegate Caucus vote.

If there is anyone who receives this message attended the caucus in Braintree and they voted with a Provisional Vote, we need you to contact us ASAP so we can get your name and address to provide proof so we can triumph. Even if you know of someone that was thee at the caucus and they voted with a provisional ballot, please forwad that information to me so we can contact them.

The MassGOP has scheduled the Provisional Ballots to be opened Wednesday, but only if we are able to provide proof that these 9 Liberty Supporters who voted with a Provisional Ballot registered by February 15th.

Fellow Friends of Liberty, help us keep the MassGOP from stealing another election from the people.
In Liberty,

Doug Bennett"

This thread has opened my eyes. Romney gets the vote in the fall.

If the GOP can plan and mobilize such a sweeping conspiracy to bring one man down imagine what they can do when working for this country! The massive and organized effort to keep one man, Ron Paul, down against the overwhelming majority of the country (apparently) is unprecedented in scale. I say congratulations to the GOP. I tip my hat to them.

If a majority of the people in the country are voting for Ron Paul then wouldn't it make sense for him to save his money for a third party run in November?

Why work within the corruptive framework of the Republican Party when his popularity already gives him enough political power win without them?

Why are you trying to kill Ron Paul?

He will obviously be assassinated if he is elected by the massive conspiracy that is keeping him from being elected. So getting him elected is signing his death warrant.
