good deal. Its going to be weird to see them at the Fillmore.

Also, interested in seeing Cynic live probably more than BTBAM haha. I like BTBAM more but I've seen them a billion times I've never seen Cynic.

Show was fun. Devin Townsend had a lot of energy and is just a fun front man. Cynic was incredible and really just spot on live.

BTBAM was enjoyable as usual. Probably only the 2nd show around NC/SC I can think of in the past 8 years or so that they didn't play one track off silent circus. But they made up for it by playing "More of Myself to Kill"

quadruple post

The Demonstration posted a cover of a Lady Gaga song and she linked to it on her own twitter page, kinda funny. Not a big fan of the cover or the original myself, but kinda cool for Zack and the gang.

really want to go to the btbam show, just don't know if I'll be in raleigh that weekend.

Would love to go see this (pretty much for dillinger) in charlotte thursday but once again I don't know if I'll be able to do it:

Dillinger Escape Plan
Darkest Hour
iwrestledabearonce
Animals As Leaders

On a different note, Daughters' new s/t album is interestingly good. I've pretty much grown out of all the old stuff of theirs that I enjoyed but I still picked up this album out of curiosity and it sounds nothing at all like their old albums and is pretty decent. Won't be in my end of year top 10 or anything but it was a pleasant surprise.

In between listening to the new dillinger and deftones albums, I have been on a huge post-hardcore kid lately. Playing a lot of my old staples: at the drive-in, bear vs shark, modern life is war, Fugazi etc.

But I finally picked up more stuff from La Dispute (only had their debut EP) and I have been digging it. Also just got 3 albums from a band called Victor! Fix The Sun that has a similar vibe to the above-mentioned bands.

So I fucked around and waited too long and now the Mastadon BTBAM show is sold the fuck out.

If any of y'all know of anyone trying to get rid of a ticket (preferably two) please hook a brother up. It's my birthday weekend.

negatory. but what do you mean by "this"? Isis or metal in general or what?

Anyway, I don't normally get too negative on people in here over specific metal/hardcore/associated genre bands they like, but Emmure is one of the absolute worst bands people like that fall under that umbrella. Their music is completely void of anything creative, unique, or musically interesting. Even beyond that, there are scores of other bands that write better super-generic-breakdown music if that is what you want to listen to. I don't understand how they even got popular. My only guess is pissed off 16 year olds.

I just checked out that Emmure band because Jamie hated on them. dear god, i don't even listen to hardcore but i could name three bands immediately that they directly ripped off. that aside, i could tolerate the band if i had to but that singer is the worst of the worst.

When I said "this," I was referring to metal/hardcore. And yes, Emmure isn't talented, but for some reason... I like them. I only listen to them in moderation though. Even though Four Year Strong is weak hardcore (if at all), I also like them... they went to high school 30 min. away and throw kickass shows; I still love Vanna, another band from Massachusetts.

haha yea I just really hate them. As a songwriter it is just frustrating to see someone like that have the kind of success they have had.

more rumors of a Codeseven reunion coupled with them setting up a twitter account. After getting back together to re-record an old song for Rock Band this past winter, I have kept hearing rumors from their friends that they might be doing some reunion stuff. we'll see...I'm crossing my fingers though.

Holy shit, Gospel is making music again?

They released The Moon is a Dead World and then disappeared. That album is fucking amazing. It is a shame more people don't know about it, it is an absolute dinger.

I'm not entirely sure about this new song, though.
