Now you will be the same idiots bitching when gottfried doesn't go undefeated with our flawed roster

You just couldn't handle us being on the brink of success could you?"

You're fucking retarded.

I'm quite sure many of those who are saying "good riddance" are going to be the same folks bitching at Lo Brown next year when he turns the ball over 5+ times in a few games. Mark it.

Okay I just looked all this shit up.

It has nothing to do with whether the school grants a release or not, though (which is what you originally implied).

Most conferences have a rule that adds a year of sitting out on top of the NCAA year for transfers within the conference (which is the rule that Newton and Schaeffer skirted by going JUCO). There is absolutely no NCAA rule that would require a player to sit two seasons (unless they leave without completing a full academic term at the first school), and certainly not one tied to whether the school grants a release or not.

Whether the school grants the release or not doesn't matter for shit, because there's an appeals process that basically always results in the release being granted.

And the Newton thing is way more complicated anyway, because he probably wasn't academically eligible to transfer anywhere but JUCO in the first place.

Why do you wish him well? Thats some Arizona State shit. Fuck him and his new school.

This is a guy that had a lot of potential yes but in reality, was not very good. Think about it, he was never a factor on defense, forced wild shots on offense, couldn't shoot, couldn't finish consistently, had the body of a 13 year old and didn't have a great drive for winning.

This is a guy who missed like 3 important games with the flu including the UNC game.

Why would we want someone here that doesn't want to play for us?

and yes you are right that we can't blame him but you fucks are on here talking like he's some kind of victim. He was using us and we were using him and both parties got burned.

The mutual agreement part makes it sound like Gottfried didn't want him. His child in timeout behavior at the press conference made it seem like he believed lowe was the only coach that would put up with his bullshit.

Yes he is. He is putting his school first. Harrow whined the entire time he was here and had a diva complex. I just can't find it in me to wish him well right now.

I just can't understand what a petty little man motherfucker mindset you have to have to rationalize saying shit like that.

It's a 19 year old kid

Playing basketball

If being a winner means frothing at the mouth over a teenager I've never met, who just made a decision I know absolutely nothing about, then count me out.

I am not frothing at my mouth about it. You have to admit he was a bit of a whiny diva while he was here. I also don't really feel like I need to pretend that I am not upset that he decided to leave my alma mater hanging in the lurch.

im not mad he's not here anymore, im not mad we won't have his "potential talent" anymore

im mad he pretended to care SO MUCH about this university, then just dump it cause his best buddy got fired... that's bullshitting and insulting us. so im mad he slapped the university in the face with no good reason that anyone can even speculate

thats why im throwing quotes around now. gotta have something to talk about. ernie stop trolling people's posts and man up and have something to add yourself... or just dont read this thread

getting mad that he left and getting mad at him personally are two different things.

decommitments and transfers are expected during a coaching change, right?

he committed to lowe back when noone knew who he was, before everyone else considered him. this isn't shocking.

Coming into the season Harrow was the player I was looking forward to see playing the most out of our Big Three. But after going to the Dean Dome and seeing Ryan walking around, talking to media members, etc. while the rest of his team warmed up, made me lose a lot of respect for him. Its our biggest rival, if youre too sick to play, you dont need to be on the court at all, especially doing the stuff that he was doing out there (i.e. not looking incapacitated)

Joe Ovies just explained the whole situation perfectly. He said its not the fans who pushed him out, or the fact that Sidney is gone, it was Ryan Harrow's inferiority complex and "prairie dog" syndrome that made him leave. He would poke his head up and start listening to the media, then get butthurt when he was criticized. This all first reared its head when Ryan wrote that letter to the state fans last year talking about how much he looked forward to playing for the Wolfpack and their great fans, but then made a comment about taking it easy on him with the criticism.

He's just an immature 19-year old who cares way too much about what other people say about him. It doesnt matter what school he chooses to attend, if he doesnt grow a backbone, he's going to have the same thing happen to him. He was a highly touted recruit, and was expected to be a significant part of our team, so the fans/media/coaches criticism was warranted.

Good luck to you Ryan, wherever you end up. But I sure do hope you grow a pair of balls and quit being so passive-aggressive

On a positive note, this could be a golden opportunity for Zo Brown to develop into a Jarrett Jack type of point guard. Please to not transfer Zo!

well, if he wanted to leave then i'm glad he's gone. not going to diss him any more than that b/c i do think he has potential even if he's a much more flawed player than we thought he'd be coming in

just too much drama and bullshit. move forward with the guys that want to be here and open up scholarships for gottfried to build his own team faster

look at it this way. did costner and mccauley staying really help us as a program OR sidney lowe as a coach long term? no

[Edited on April 26, 2011 at 7:09 PM. Reason : and I do think zo is a better pg than him right now. id rather have both, of course]

If we suck next year we suck. Not like it will be anything new. Just don't bring in short term options on long term scholarships commitments like the last staff did
