we will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed this act and those who harbor them.... strong warning to the Taliban to give up Osama

Also....according to Congressional sources....the Administration is confident that Osama Bin Laden is responsible for this

I think he said just about the only thing he could have said. There really isn't a lot of leeway as to how a President could handle something like this.

I wanted it to be stronger, but I am very happy with the statement about those who harbor the terrorists. Basically he is saying that if any country does not give up the terrorists, we are going to attack that country.

I'm still not a fan of Bush, I never have been. But I totally support whatever he decides to do with this. Even if I don't like him personally, he's our President, and we all need to follow and respect his actions at this time.

the wonderful nature of US moral, we can rally around someone we might hate, because we are americans, and we have pride in our country

This would not be much of a war. Kind of like what we did to Iraq. The goal this time has to be to kill all those responsible instead of leaving the situation like we left Iraq. These people are more dangerous to our well-being.

Better than constantly going to war with ourselves because we can't rally around the nation.

i debated weather inluding star spangled banner lyics and other songs in that post, but realized that the conversation would have moved too fast

One of the best speeches ever? Get the fuck outta here. How long did it last? Like five minutes? And it was all rhetoric ("blah blah blah, you can dent steel, but you can't dent the heart of the American people") and ONE key phrase: "We will not differentiate between terrorists and those who harbor them". That's it.

which is why you should support the action the US will be taking. would you rather kill 50 people and stop one of the worst terrorist groups in the world, or leave them alone and have this happen again

from Tony Blair's speech:
Quote :
"As for those that carried out these attacks, there are no adequate words of condemnation. Their barbarism will stand as their shame for all eternity. This mass terrorism is the new evil in our world. The people who perpetrate it have no regard whatsoever for the sanctity or value of human life. "

i hope we never have to go to war.....my biggest fear is having a war on american soil.....there hasnt been a war on american land since the civil war.....whoever created this chaos is obviously not afraid of us, and is definitely not afraid of hurting innocent americans again
