Who wins?http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/news/story?id=2855114Almost 2 million just to modify the court.. should be interesting. Are they going to switch sides or stay on their preference?
5/1/2007 4:44:17 PM
is this going to be televised?
5/1/2007 4:45:20 PM
This shit is wild
5/1/2007 4:46:22 PM
nadal wins this one
5/1/2007 4:48:42 PM
They should do a dunk contest with Vince Carter on a 10 foot goal vs me on an 8 foot goal. He'd win, but it would be pretty close.
5/1/2007 4:49:02 PM
I hate tennis but I might would actually watch some of this.
5/1/2007 5:06:44 PM
this is the insane and completely awesome. is this really going down on wednesday? i must watch.
5/1/2007 5:08:11 PM
Federer is going to smoke Nadal if he (Federer) is playing on grass. The reason Nadal pwns on clay is because his opponents cannot more on clay like he does. It'll help Nadal some because the clay will slow down Federer's serve, but overall I don't see how Federer could lose (unless they are switching sides which would make the match much more interesting).
5/1/2007 5:19:40 PM
thats tight, haha....i like it
5/1/2007 5:20:12 PM
so are they switching sides throughout the match like normal, or will nadal stay on the clay side and federer on the grass?
5/1/2007 5:20:44 PM
im sure they will switch sides
5/1/2007 5:21:53 PM
the court will rotate so that even though they switch sides, they'll stay on their favorite surface at all times
5/1/2007 5:24:17 PM
go Nadal, I hope he kicks the crap out of Federer
5/1/2007 5:27:18 PM
nadal really seems like a prick to me. federer seems like a really nice guy. maybe i just don't like mullets
5/1/2007 5:31:51 PM
This is the stupidest idea I've ever heard. Being on clay is a huge advantage to because it slows down the other players shot, while you would be able to pound away on the fast grass. So this effectively takes away what is good about both surfaces. Less long rallies, and less winners.

5/1/2007 5:56:20 PM
^^ding ding ding
5/1/2007 5:57:37 PM
lolthis concept makes me laugh
5/1/2007 6:05:04 PM
but you have better footing on grass because the clay slides around under your feet. I would personally rather be on grass that clay.
5/1/2007 6:55:51 PM
5/1/2007 7:03:16 PM
5/1/2007 7:11:01 PM
5/1/2007 7:24:12 PM
im not the dumbass who thought it'd be uneven hahaha...look how mad and defensive you are... its just the wolf web... no one really cares, but you can if you want
5/1/2007 7:26:28 PM
I think you are not reading what I said closely. I said the person on clay has a huge advantage, which is true. I never said anything about the match being uneven, just the games.
5/1/2007 7:30:35 PM
They will both break their ankles trying to adjust to the two surfaces. Maybe then Roddick will finally become #1 again.
5/1/2007 7:39:52 PM
5/1/2007 8:21:01 PM
this will be a great gimmick but, for the reasons listed above, it won't do anything to neutralize the playing the surface i'll probably watch though
5/1/2007 8:22:20 PM
nadal won
5/2/2007 4:52:42 PM
the decisive third set went to tiebreak, nadal won it 12-10 or something along those lines
5/2/2007 4:53:58 PM

5/2/2007 9:54:36 PM
wtf they played it already? grrr.
5/2/2007 10:05:51 PM
yah they played today
5/2/2007 10:10:44 PM
Nadal is still gay.
5/2/2007 10:30:02 PM
5/2/2007 11:00:06 PM
Sampras in his prime on grass would destroy Federer on grassand I don't even LIKE sampras....Federer is just currently the best grass player
5/3/2007 1:39:06 PM
^ Bullshit! When they played at Wimbledon in 2001 Sampras wasn't in his prime but Federer was still very green and won in five sets. I'm not saying Sampras wouldn't beat him but to say he would destroy him is absurd.
5/3/2007 2:39:29 PM
I dont think you realize how fucking good Sampras was in his prime.
5/3/2007 2:53:24 PM
I do realize how good he was in his prime, I watched countless matches of his from the 1990 U.S. Open to the end of his career. He would not "destroy" Federer on grass even in his prime.
5/3/2007 3:06:13 PM
he destroyed EVERYONE on grass in his prime....
5/3/2007 3:11:23 PM
5/3/2007 3:22:54 PM
The NFL preseason should be like this....half the field astro-turf while the other half is natural grass...
5/3/2007 3:25:38 PM
bttt for the french open championship on sundaypoint of focus... i think this is federers match,,, i still definitely find him to be an underdog... but i think he'll get through this time
6/8/2007 4:27:20 PM
Federer is by far an overall better player than Sampras ever was.And on grass Federer is at least as good as Sampras ever was.Saying he would destroy Federer is blatantly false.
6/8/2007 7:46:11 PM
he's right ^
6/9/2007 10:26:53 AM
6/9/2007 11:48:39 AM
wasnt sampras like number 1 for 10 years in a row or something?
6/9/2007 11:49:38 AM
^no, he wasn't. He was #1 for 286 weeks total.Federer has held #1 for the most consecutive weeks out of anyone, currently at 173.
6/9/2007 4:25:32 PM
1-1 and third set is about to start... come on federer
6/10/2007 10:56:54 AM
nadal about to win itAGain...
6/10/2007 12:18:16 PM
amazing, a freak of nature on clay
6/10/2007 12:21:29 PM
