Effective May 4, 2012, a $7 monthly service fee will apply
4/17/2012 5:20:51 PM
just for an account or something specific?
4/17/2012 5:22:23 PM
Yeah, what is the service fee for?
4/17/2012 5:23:15 PM
just for a checking accountunless you carry a minimum balance of $1500 or have >$500 in direct deposits a monthmy company doesn't offer direct deposit
4/17/2012 5:23:27 PM
Surely you have some sort of credit union available to you. Why were you even using a bank in the first place?
4/17/2012 5:24:15 PM
My bases are covered on both sides there, so I guess I will stay with them.
4/17/2012 5:24:58 PM
because I lived in a big cityI will be moving to a credit unionthus the goodbyethanks for your valuable commentary
4/17/2012 5:25:20 PM
Poor people problems ITT.
4/17/2012 5:26:06 PM
I'd be covered but I probably shouldn't keep that much in checkingnot that I'd be getting crazy interest in my liquid assets in a money market or savings account
4/17/2012 5:26:18 PM
it's kinda funny- the people who meet their standards for no fee's are the ones that wouldn't need to worry about wasteful fees if they were applied- yet the ones that don't probably can't allow all that frivolous spending
4/17/2012 5:26:40 PM
yeah they don't want us poor people banking with them
4/17/2012 5:27:25 PM
I do disagree with this senseless fee though, even though it doesn't apply to me. I already have my savings account with a credit union, maybe this will finally push me to transfer over my checking as well.
4/17/2012 5:27:38 PM
money grubbing
4/17/2012 5:28:19 PM
I hope the entire fucking banking industry fails. Nationalize that shit and be done with it.They should make the account managers and decision makers go with the law enforcement officers to evict people from their foreclosed homes. They should have to take their children and explain to them that "this is what daddy does, he takes people's homes away and then sells them for roughly 20% of what they owe, even though the majority of people could pay that 20%." Fire bomb your local branches and let the mother fuckers burn.
4/17/2012 5:29:20 PM
BofA tried and didn't go through with it. I'm sure Wells will follow suit.
4/17/2012 5:30:20 PM
this country sucksand it ain't Obama's fault

Wells Fargo is all like: "You thought Wachovia was bad, take this bitches"

4/17/2012 5:34:12 PM
4/17/2012 5:34:29 PM
^^ oh, I thought they were going to charge a fee even if you used a BofA ATM. Shows how little I pay attention to shit that doesn't concern me
4/17/2012 5:36:37 PM
this is a checking account feei only got notified of it for my WF checking account, while i have 7 accounts with WF.
4/17/2012 5:38:18 PM
well it is enough to drive me to close my account with them and take my money next pay period to a credit union
4/17/2012 5:39:25 PM
So is there a national bank out there that doesn't charge for checking. BofA says you need 1500 for basic checking, but if you do the e-banking, its free. Think I'm going to sign up! I currently use a Credit Union for most my money but when I need checks or access to money in a different state it's nice to have an option. No more wells fargo!
4/17/2012 5:39:58 PM
I don't know why anyone who has the ability (relatives, military, employer) would NOT move to a credit union.I'm a member of State Employees' Credit Union and USAA. Won't ever use a "large" bank again.
4/17/2012 5:40:25 PM
credit unions are definitely the way to gonon-profit banking ftw
4/17/2012 5:40:41 PM
Did you guys know that Wachovia was now Wells Fargo across the Carolinas?
4/17/2012 5:42:07 PM
I had free checking with Wachovia, but it appears that with the Wells Fargo merge that has gone away.I will mention something that I think is odd and frustrating. I have my mortgage with Wells Fargo, but I can't pay it using my Wells Fargo checking account. They require that I pay it with a different account (meaning that I have to write my GF a check and she then writes a check from her BofA account). You would think it would be more cost effective for them to just transfer funds from 1 Wells account to another.
4/17/2012 5:42:54 PM
i think you're doing it wrong.[Edited on April 17, 2012 at 5:45 PM. Reason : confirmed, in that amount of time i figured out how to set that up. noob.]

dje's having a stroke. that takes 0.03 seconds to set up online.
4/17/2012 5:46:34 PM
BANKERS ON WALL STREET
4/17/2012 5:49:14 PM
I am not trying to set up auto-draft. I don't do auto-draft for anything. But they will not allow me to pay using my Wells Fargo checking account without auto-draft, which seems really stupid.reading comprehension for the win.[Edited on April 17, 2012 at 5:52 PM. Reason : a]
4/17/2012 5:51:42 PM
why would you not autodraft your mortgage? other than the fact you're a gramps and probably keep a ledger still (i wish they'd let me pay my mortgage on my CC with cashback rewards, then just autodraft the payment from my checking account to pay it off immediately, and make a few extra bucks. but i can see where that would cause a whole fucking slew of problems )[Edited on April 17, 2012 at 5:54 PM. Reason : e]
4/17/2012 5:53:07 PM
Because I like having control of when my bills are paid. I have 15 days to pay it before a late fee is assessed, and it is the largest bill I pay. If something comes up and I need the cash, I would rather stall the mortgage payment until my next paycheck. It's not really hard to understand
4/17/2012 5:54:24 PM
i have a BOA mortgage, i want to set up auto draft but you can only do that if you have a BOA account. so i have to log on to their site for 28 times 12 more times. sucks
4/17/2012 5:54:27 PM
4/17/2012 5:55:32 PM
gotcha. just never thought of that as a problem.
4/17/2012 5:55:40 PM
It isn't really a problem because I typically have a minimum of $2k in my checking account at all times. But even so, I remember what it was like being broke. I just like having full control over my money, I guess it's kind of my thing.
4/17/2012 5:57:52 PM
Yeah autodraft is a bad idea. I've definitely had cases where a company did a double draft.
4/17/2012 5:58:41 PM
i'd just straight up fucking forget if i didn't auto-draft.i guess that's a bigger fear for me than getting hit twice.[Edited on April 17, 2012 at 5:59 PM. Reason : i auto-draft everything.]
4/17/2012 5:59:33 PM
The only thing I allow to auto-draft is DirecTV, and that is because it saves me $10 a month and is such a small charge that I don't even notice it. A $900 charge hitting the day after a car accident could put me on the bus to work.I'll be honest, I am a slow pay motherfucker. I typically don't pay any bills until they call me.[Edited on April 17, 2012 at 6:02 PM. Reason : a]
4/17/2012 6:01:58 PM
I haven't gotten any notification of this and I don't see it on their website? WTF? Doesn't really apply to me, but I'd still like to have not found out through TWW.
4/17/2012 6:54:43 PM
^srslyit won't really affect me either but it's still ridiculous
4/17/2012 6:56:16 PM
^^i know right, i checked their site and it shows it
4/17/2012 7:03:52 PM
What I meant was, I was looking for some kind of notification that this was a new fee either on the front page or through mail correspondence. I don't feel I should have to go digging to find out about a new fee.Oh well. [Edited on April 17, 2012 at 7:09 PM. Reason : ]
