What say you, TWW? I always thought it was tacky. Have the tides changed?
5/1/2012 8:11:46 PM
totes tacky
5/1/2012 8:12:41 PM
It's times like this that I really miss joe17669... I could always bounce these types of ideas off of him, and vice versa. Now, I will have to rely on TWW females, seeing how the males on TWW are a bunch of classless hacks.
5/1/2012 8:16:32 PM
You'd get shot around these parts dressing like that
5/1/2012 8:16:47 PM
Wait, what specifically are you talking about?A removable collar?A shirt that has buttons on the collar tips instead of stays?Just wearing a shirt & tie in general, or wearing them alone without a jacket?I'M SO CONFUSED
5/1/2012 8:17:49 PM
You'll still be black no matter what you wear. Just go with whatever.
5/1/2012 8:19:13 PM
i'm not a fan of it.
5/1/2012 8:19:18 PM
button down collar + tie. yeah, I'm talking about with a jacket too, if that matters to you
5/1/2012 8:19:36 PM
Wearing a dress shirt is fine.Wearing shirt + tie + jacket is fine.Wearing just the shirt & tie is tacky.Any collar that buttons down is verboten.
5/1/2012 8:23:44 PM
ehI wear just a button down collar shirt with the top button undun pretty often
5/1/2012 8:27:06 PM
That look is fine, but get some shirts without them tacky buttons, mang.
5/1/2012 8:27:51 PM
Two ties on a short sleave shirt is how I usually roll
fred that makes me wanna puke and you at the same time
5/1/2012 8:29:35 PM

here's a photo of me at the club last week
5/1/2012 9:30:41 PM
your balls are showing
5/1/2012 9:31:42 PM
I think it looks good... provided you wear a decent pattern on the shirt and tie.... IE they compliment.... if that's what you're worried about; you're probably okay.... or totally off your rocker and wearing novelty ties to serious settings...
5/1/2012 10:14:36 PM
tacky? its hardly noticeable
5/1/2012 10:27:53 PM
maybe barely noticeable to you uncouth individuals
5/1/2012 10:29:54 PM
i mean if you're some fashion model on a runway or something sure whatever, but if you show up for a business meeting and care about something like that, you're probably a shitty businessman who needs to get his priorities straight
5/1/2012 10:31:46 PM
I used to think that way. Then I stopped patching up my 3 year old jeans with those sticky denim patches.
5/1/2012 10:35:15 PM
This guy's suit only costs $5,000... no way in hell we give them the contract
5/1/2012 10:37:42 PM
are you supposed to button those things if you aren't wearing a tie?i think it looks stupid but my old fart coworker thinks i'm wrong
5/1/2012 10:38:18 PM
1) Don't take advice from hipsters who don't know what a button down collar is.2) When in doubt, listen to DivaBaby19
5/1/2012 10:39:15 PM
if you're not wearing a tie they stay unbuttoned
5/1/2012 10:39:22 PM
5/1/2012 10:41:22 PM
5/1/2012 10:43:53 PM
5/1/2012 10:44:40 PM
everyone knows this is the proper way to wear a button down shirt
5/1/2012 10:45:17 PM
if they have buttons, they probably don't have collar stays
5/1/2012 10:45:47 PM
5/1/2012 10:46:10 PM
i don't care. i do the bare minimum. dress clothes are a prison.[Edited on May 1, 2012 at 10:48 PM. Reason : .]
5/1/2012 10:47:38 PM
^missing the point
5/1/2012 10:48:43 PM
i know DivaBaby is the resident fashion guru but she also thinks shit like this looks perfectly fine
5/1/2012 10:49:44 PM
^^my point stands, regardless of what wimmens think.
5/1/2012 10:51:02 PM
i often end up with the button down + tie, with the neck unbuttoned and maximum sleeve rollage. its the "i've already put in a hard day's work" look..
5/1/2012 10:57:56 PM
5/1/2012 10:59:36 PM
just to be clear, i was referring to the neck & not the collar buttons..
5/1/2012 11:03:44 PM
If you enjoy looking like a Congressman from a shitty flyover state, go for it. Personally I never wear a polo/button down collar with a suit because I think it's aesthetically abhorrent. I will wear one with a tie or bowtie with a casual jacket or blazer.
5/1/2012 11:04:21 PM
I grew up wearing button down collars cause thats what my dad wears, I realized late there was another option and I think I probably haven't bought a shirt like that in 8 years or so
5/1/2012 11:04:53 PM
unless you're wearing a tux or you're selling bean pies, i think bowties are aesthetically abhorrent
5/1/2012 11:05:25 PM
one of my goals in life is to be a congressman from a shitty kickass flyover state
5/1/2012 11:06:30 PM
You live in Charlotte. Everything about your life is aesthetically abhorrent.[Edited on May 1, 2012 at 11:07 PM. Reason : iEdit]
5/1/2012 11:07:06 PM
tbh whenever i see someone with a perfectly ironed, put together outfit in a meeting, i automatically assume they're untrustworthy
5/1/2012 11:07:41 PM
5/1/2012 11:09:05 PM
^^^^^ Agreed. Bowties as a hip fashion statement are I have 1 (maybe 2) shirts with a button collar. I stay away from them if at all possible, I think they just aren't as comfortable because you always have that high collar rubbing your neck.[Edited on May 1, 2012 at 11:10 PM. Reason : ^]
5/1/2012 11:10:05 PM
yeah I live in Charlotte, the majority of us don't wear bowtiesi prefer bolo ties
5/1/2012 11:11:11 PM
EMCE realistically you will never have to worry about looking like a Congressman from a shitty flyover state because they don't elect black people to office. [Edited on May 1, 2012 at 11:12 PM. Reason : except JC Watts, but he was one of the good ones, ya know...][Edited on May 1, 2012 at 11:14 PM. Reason : Fun fact. Did you know that according to Wikipedia, JC stood for Julius Caesar? HAHAHA.]
5/1/2012 11:12:00 PM
Every woman I have met loves when i wear a bow tie. Also,
