WRAL says no life-threatening injuries.

I do wonder how cars end up inverted on straight stretches of road.

Well, here's an example...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i16nRG7PracHere's another:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5PGzcEnJMEAnd anotherhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deYd1s9pF4gI was driving down 64 just past the Cary Auto Mall the other day and saw a guy 2 cars ahead of me drive off the the right side of the road. He was in a full size truck, a Chevy IIRC. He was headed straight for the woods on the right. He turned just in time and avoided a head on collision with a tree, while also avoiding hitting a road sign on the side of the road. Driver was lucky as hell. It happened around 6:30pm. I don't know if he fell asleep or what. Crazy to watch, glad the driver saved it in time.[Edited on May 2, 2012 at 9:07 PM. Reason : .]

So it would seem from those videos being Asian helps accomplish this feat. Also holy shit that first one demonstrates why to wear your seatbelt.

I was about 30 cars back on the on ramp from Cary Town when it happened. There was a big plume of glass flying and I saw the back end of the car flipping over, had a pretty good view since I was elevated above the roadway. I didn't see the crash perfectly, but it looks like the car was trying to merge from the right through lane to the weave/exit lane and hit a car, then severely over corrected and the front end got caught under the front of an SUV and then *kickflip*. Guy was still laying in the vehicle when I made it by, about 30 people got out to help everyone then I guess when the first official got there and they saw the injuries weren't too bad everyone got in their cars and cleared out. It was kinda dumb though since all the empty cars in the front were blocking all lanes.

My aunt was in the blue car that has the front smashed in. She went to the emergency room but it turns out everything was superficial except for a hairline fracture in her finger. She was rear ended and forced into the car in front of her and the guardrail. I think the car behind her didnt really slow down at all. She was going pretty slow because the car in front of her had slammed on their brakes.[Edited on May 3, 2012 at 7:17 AM. Reason : s]

This thread reminds me of the broken skateboard I saw on the center divider on I-26 in Columbia yesterday.
