This situation is about craigslist.I sold an item to a lady today. I was truthful about all aspects of the item and even dropped the price a little. An hour goes by, she wants her money back and return the item. Would you refund her money if she was not satisfied?I have a very hard time with situations like this because I have no backbone.

Tell her to sell it on Craigslist
6/5/2012 3:49:48 PM
Is something wrong with the item? If no, then you shouldn't accept a return.
6/5/2012 3:49:54 PM
Does she know where you live?If no, fuck that bitchIf yes, move, then fuck that bitch
6/5/2012 3:50:04 PM
If you made the item's state clear when you sold it, I don't know that you're obligated to return her money. I think I might in your position because I also tend to rollover

Nothing is wrong with it. It was a double stroller and she was having trouble maneuvering it. Doubles are harder to use than singles for sure. She is also VERY pregnant and all women are miserable doing anything at that point.
6/5/2012 3:51:54 PM
I wouldn't refund it

This

I suggested she try to sell it on craigslist because she will probably get more money for it than what I sold it for. I dropped the price because I felt bad about her situation. I HAVE NO BACKBONE!
6/5/2012 3:54:17 PM
I don't think you would be in the wrong to not accept the return. But at the same time, if you do, you should be able to sell it again fairly quickly as baby stuff like that usually goes fast.

This kind of situation is what annoys the shit out of Ken about me.
6/5/2012 3:55:43 PM
I'd let her return it as long as long as it requires no energy on your part. There's no telling when you're paths will cross again especially if you both have kids.
6/5/2012 4:03:08 PM
if it's no trouble to me I guess I would have taken it back and refunded her money. Strollers seem like they would sell very easily on craigslist so you could easily relist and sell and you would be making someone's life a little easier also.
6/5/2012 4:03:11 PM
I know right now, having three small children is a pain to go places. I would totally refund it if Ken wasn't thinking it was a bad idea. Again, I would refund money EVERY TIME if it were up to me.
6/5/2012 4:07:37 PM
well I wouldnt do it EVERY TIME, but if she isn't being a bitch about it, then I would cut her some slackAlso like you said, you can make more money off it anyways, relist and make some $$
6/5/2012 4:10:55 PM
Just charge a restocking fee. Kidding. If it won't be a huge inconvenience I'd give her her money back. But if this is her first kid & you're trying to get out of the house with three, I'd explain that you really went out of your way to sell it & just don't have the time to take it back & resell it. Then offer that she can use your ad & pics to relist it.

I already told her I wasn't refunding her money with GREAT reluctance before I made the thread. I was just wondering what you all would do in the same situation. I can see a lot of you are similar in heart as I am. I think I should be the one to set up the craigslist sale items and Ken should be the one to take care of the transactions. I don't think I will be able to go through this again.

^ sounds like a good plan
6/5/2012 4:19:23 PM
oh dont do that! the more you have to go through things like this the more comfortable at saying no you will get!

it's shit like this why i don't let any craigslister come to my house (unless it's something too big)...i meet them at some public, well-lit placeand the few times i've been contacted later about a refund, i don't do it...i have no idea what they did after buying whatever it is and i'm not going to accept responsibility for their buyer's remorse

^Anytime I've either bought or sold anything on Craigslist, I've met them in a public place. Never over to my house.I sold a butterfly chair one time on Craigslist. I had pictures of the chair on Craigslist. Links to Pier 1 Imports site (that was still selling the identical chair). Everybody that viewed that listing knew that it was a chocolate brown butterfly chair. Arranged to meet a buyer in the Target parking lot at Brier Creek. Gave me cash, I gave her the chair. A WEEK LATER, she emails me and says that she doesn't want the chair anymore and it clashes with the room she put it in and wants a refund. I emailed her back and basically said "Sorry, you knew the color of the chair and could read the reviews on the Pier 1 Imports site" and that I can't refund her money. She seemed kind of crazy when I met her in the parking lot so thank god I didn't have her over to my place.[Edited on June 5, 2012 at 4:33 PM. I once bought a red antique typewriter from Craigslist. We met during a massive thunderstorm under the cover of an Exxon stationAnd the one time I had the buyer to my house was because I was selling a couch. It was in the garage & met them in the driveway. She was cool & we actually ended up making another deal on the spot. She wanted the rug I also had for sale but didn't have the $25 I was asking. Her husband repairs vacuums for a living so I said he if could fix my broken vacuum I'd trade the rug for fixing it. Sure enough, I dropped it off at the shop & it was fixed later that day. They brought the vacuum to my house & I gave them the rug. Later I sold the vacuum on Craigslist too. /blog[Edited on June 5, 2012 at 4:50 PM. Reason : Buyer]

I've never given refunds for anything on Craigslist, but I have definitely swapped/repaired/helped with items I've sold.I used to sell a shit ton of NES stuff, and occasionally a game or system wouldn't work quite right. I'd swap it out for another system, or clean the game for them and test it on my test station if they asked. Have gotten a number of repeat buyers that way actually.

craigslist is the wild west of buying and selling. get what you can, from who you can, when you can, because people will flake out/ignore you/rip you off any chance they get. if there was nothing wrong when you sold it, hell no i wouldn't give a refund. i wouldn't even answer the e-mail.
