I'll admit, not a fan. I've had them in both vehicles i've ever owned and never used them. I like the idea of the sunroof, but i don't like the execution of the sunroof. what's the deal with the sunroof? /seinfeldDiscuss]

I liked them better before my hair started thinning.
7/16/2012 8:52:57 AM
use mine all the time. practically a requirement when looking for a vehicle.
7/16/2012 8:53:28 AM
a late night drive in the middle of nowhere in the summer with the sunroof open, music blaring, and certain substances is quite an experience.that's about the whole use of them for me.these days though, it's when i get into the car and need to flush out the hot air as quick as possible i'll open all the windows and sun/moon roof and then close it up after a few minutes.
7/16/2012 8:55:49 AM
I also use mine a lot. I like the benefits of the breeze without my hair flying all over like it would in a convertible. And everytime i've been in a convertible I conveniently do not have a hair tie or hat. I keep the shade over it in the summer, but in the winter I keep it open so more sun gets in my car.
7/16/2012 8:58:27 AM
i mainly open mine at night or when it's snowing

only 1 of my four vehicles had it, and I definitely miss it. I would have gotten it on my truck, but they didn't offer it until the year following when I bought it.
7/16/2012 9:04:09 AM
I mostly use it to release hot air from the cat quickly on entrance lately
7/16/2012 9:08:04 AM
dumb, don't like them at all
7/16/2012 9:17:26 AM
I miss my sunroof that is all
7/16/2012 9:22:23 AM
what's the difference between a sunroof and a moonroof? i think i'd heard that a moonroof has glass and opens, while a sunroof is just one that opens (whether it's glass or not, so a moonroof is a subset of sunroofs)anyway, i loved my moonroof before the motor crapped out...the car didn't come with power locks or power windows, but with a powered moonroof (weird, IMO), so i'd open that sucker up every time i got in the car (probably why the motor crapped out )my favorite thing to do was crack it in the winter and run the heatnow i just leave it closed (it doesn't leak or anything) and generally have the "cover" pulled back so i get sunlight in the car...makes my car hotter during the summer when i forget to cover it, but i really miss it when i forget to push the cover back when i'm driving
7/16/2012 9:24:09 AM
sunroofs always seem so appealing when considering buying a car, but then most people hardly ever use them.
7/16/2012 9:26:44 AM
I thought a sunroof are the ones that flip up only and a moonroof are the ones that slide open.
7/16/2012 9:30:34 AM
Sunroofs suck. The only times I ever used it I'd leave the damn thing open and it'd rain.
7/16/2012 9:31:07 AM
I want to spell it like sunrooves
7/16/2012 9:40:59 AM
I always thought moonroof = fixed (or pop-up only), sunroof = operable (slides back)[Edited on July 16, 2012 at 9:42 AM. Reason : .]
7/16/2012 9:41:54 AM
I just call them all sunroofs

so when you guys use your sunroof how are your other window levels? because you can't just have the sunroof open or you get the helicopter effect.
7/16/2012 9:58:37 AM
My BMW doesn't suffer from the helicopter effect with only sunroof open
7/16/2012 10:05:26 AM
my mazda 3 doesn't eitheralso the helicopter effect doesn't really bother me.
7/16/2012 10:10:40 AM
neither of the cars i've owned with a sunroof have had a problem with just the roof being open
7/16/2012 10:12:07 AM
Only real time I use it is at drive in theaters, I go to drive in theaters once in a blue moon
7/16/2012 10:12:52 AM
must be the smaller cabin in my truck then, even with it being a crew cab. There just isn't a good combination of windows to sunroof that provides smooth airflow. I even have a sliding rear window. I use it almost daily and prefer it much more.
7/16/2012 10:13:12 AM
My 88 325i had a hand-cranked sunroof. How goofy I looked opening and closing it almost ruined my love of sunroofs.
7/16/2012 10:23:17 AM
what's the difference between a sunroof and a moonroofinteresting....google just informed me that what we all think of as sunroofs are actually moonroofs. Sunroofs don't have a window in them, they are metal. Moonroofs have a window.[Edited on July 16, 2012 at 10:26 AM. Reason : ]

How could you not like a sunroof?
7/16/2012 10:40:01 AM
I've wanted one every time I've looked for a car, and have still never had one. The most recent experience, the only car on the lot with the model and trim we wanted, that *had* a sunroof was also white. I really don't like white cars 95% of the time, and this was no exception. That plus the extra $800 the sunroof would have cost me made the decision for me.Will have one someday--it does seem like a good idea and it was nice to have one in one of my family cars when younger.
7/16/2012 10:43:43 AM
whenever I get to drive the bf's VW jetta sportwagon, I always open the sunroof I freaking love it. I wish I had one
7/16/2012 10:51:16 AM
honestly, i'll probably start liking it more once i cut my hair. but long hair blowing in my eyes did get annoying.
7/16/2012 10:56:35 AM
Most metro post ever. Excuse me as I casually limp dick slap you in the face.
7/16/2012 11:01:24 AM
Yes we all want holes in our roofs. Specially when the car gets a lil older and it leaks.
7/16/2012 11:02:30 AM
Older style sunroofs were mainly good for smokers looking for a quiter air .ent than a window, except in some coupes where they were large enough to feel like a t-top.New panoramic moonroofs really change the aesthetics of the interior even in sedans and crossovers by adding lots of light and perceived headroom (while actually taking up some real-life headroom)[Edited on July 16, 2012 at 11:21 AM.
