I remember going there back in the day when it was emo/hipster party central and was run down as hell, but it's been renovated now and I'm thinking about moving there. Went and viewed the apartment today and thought it was pretty nice.Has anyone lived there since the renovations or know anyone that has? I want to make sure there's not a bunch of issues with the place that don't meet the eye at first - there aren't any reviews that I can find online, either. The apartment is a two bedroom on the top (4th) floor fwiw.

I hear it's the new Harrelson Bathroom of raleigh. I mean, that is the kind of thing that I'm into. But I don't know about you

It's way too expensive for what it is.Place was great when it was cheap and shitty. Now it's expensive and mediocre.

^this, and the manager is a douche (I used to live in the duplex next to it)I dunno if you're a smoker, but smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property (not even the parking lot).

yeah he was really strict about that, said he almost evicted a girl for smoking in the morning by her car - said she was shivering when he approached her haha

It sounds like a horrible place to live.

Unless you're a rich student, it has zero appeal honestly. I've been there before and after the renovation, with friends who lived there. It's EXTREMELY overpriced right now, but I will say that the new apartments are definitely beautiful. The appliances are nice, the whole design has great appeal, but it's just not worth what they charge. Now, if you've got a ton of money to spend, and you really like the people that live outside of CupAJoe, I guess it would be okay.

when it was the rundown hipster type place, rent was only $600 for a two bedroom. of course, the building was kind of a piece of shit, but it had its charm. tons of fun parties happened there.

The unit I've been in had a TINY kitchen. Also, for being renovated, the floor bowed up a LOT in a few places.[Edited on September 22, 2012 at 9:12 AM. Reason : there are MUCH better places to live for the price]

2/10Would Not Rent.

they're charging $1,070 for a two bedroom "fitzgerald" on the fourth floor. the gf loves the place but I'm still a bit skeptical. the view from the balcony is sick and the master bedroom windows are nice as well but there is literally one drawer in the kitchen and the landlord just comes off as a total creeper

That's not a bad price/ location for a student, but seems crappy for a young professional. Is she a student?
