2005 Maxima Automatic

When I turn the car and put it in to gear very quickly the engine shuts off - everything else (dash lights and whatnot) seems fine. If I pause for a few seconds and let it run and then put it in to gear it's fine every time. It just started doing this a week ago or so.

Any ideas?

does the car have the latest software update from the dealer?

i have had mass air flow issues before where the sensor needed to be adjusted - i'll check on it
