I do. Seriously one of my favorite shows on TV. Hoping it keeps decent ratings on Friday night to have it go on a few more seasons.
Loved the setup for this season...serious shit is going down.
Also, not ashamed to admit this show makes me hungry every time there's a scene with Hannibal having dinner guests 3/6/2014 10:42:09 AM |

I miss the Scully-hued hair, but yes.
Interested to see if she'll be playing a bigger part in the rest of the season or if she really has bowed out.
Also, loved that scene with Hannibal and the other killer. 3/10/2014 1:54:54 PM |

She definitely comes back later in the season - confirmed by the showrunner's twitter account. I think the meat hannibal is slicing at the end of the season when Crawford attacks him could be her. 3/10/2014 2:32:06 PM |

This is one of my favorite shows and I've been quite excited about it's return.
On a related note, King Arthur was playing on HBO over the weekend and I noticed that both Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen are in it. Go figure
I wonder how deep Gillian Anderson's involvement will be this season, since she's a main character in another new NBC drama.

I have no idea how they rate this show TV14, this stuff wouldn't be in a PG-13 movie.
Anyway I've watched a couple of episodes (one last season, one this season), interesting but I didn't care for the pacing and none of the characters really interested me. 3/11/2014 8:54:21 PM |

I'm about 7 or 8 episodes into Season 1 now. Really enjoying it. Started watching it when I saw Mads was in it - big fan of his from Casino Royale - and the positive reviews were too much to ignore. 3/11/2014 10:43:16 PM |

They definitely push the envelope for that PG14 rating. Last week's episode had some particularly graphic images.

it really is a great show. and it's a plus for NBC that it's an international show, with shared funding from other international networks. and Brian Fuller has made it clear that he has a definite multi-season story line for the show. It's one of TV's best shows. 3/20/2014 9:02:35 AM |

Quote : | "Well, when you get into season four, you get into the literature. And so season four would be Red Dragon, Season Five would be the Silence of the Lambs era, season six would be the Hannibal era, and then Season Seven would be a resolve to the ending of that book. Hannibal ends on a cliffhanger. Hannibal Lecter has bonded with Clarice Starling and brainwashed her and they are now quasi-lovers and off as fugitives, and so that’s a cliffhanger. It might be interesting to resolve that in some way and to bring Will Graham back into the picture. So once we get two more seasons, say, of the television show, those are the aren’t-novelized stories, and then we would get into expansions of the novels after that and kind of using the novels as a backbone for season arcs that would then be kind of enhanced...
[I]t would be about incorporating [Will] in a way that he hasn’t been incorporated in the books, because Will Graham was only mentioned in Silence of the Lambs, he was not seen, and so I would be curious to see what happens to Will Graham after Red Dragon. By the time of Red Dragon, he’s married to Molly and has her son from a previous marriage, but doesn’t have any children of his own. And then that relationship is more complicated by Francis Dolarhyde and there were suggestions that there was a not-so-happy ending for Will Graham after Red Dragon because he has his face carved up and you wonder what’s going to happen to Will now, and I’m curious to see what happens to Will after that.”" |

Here is my one complaint about the show - it seems often they just "give up" on finding some of these killers.
In season 1 all the instances of the copycat killer didn't really seem to worry anyone, you would think people other then Will would've been putting more effort into finding him. This season after the color killers bodies were found, you would think someone murdering 25+ people would be a bigger deal, instead do they just assume the guy in the middle actually is the murderer and move on? And if he is - how come nobody has raised suspicions by now about who is actually murdering these people.
I know we are finally starting to touch on some of that with Wills trial and them suspecting someone else of committing his murders, and we all know what that is going to eventually lead to, but just the way everyone acts sometimes is just like "lol dead people, lets move on to the next case".
And that promo also looks like its starting to touch on this as well.

it's a bummer about Beverly, there is no way she makes it out. But it'll be interesting to see how Hannibal sets up her murder in order to distance himself from it. I was enjoying the Beverly as Clarice spin, but they things she was saying to Hannibal you knew she was setting herself up for disaster. 3/24/2014 4:53:03 PM |

I mean we are what about halfway through this season? I am assuming this season has to end with Will being released, rescuing Jack and putting Hannibal behind bars. Which is unfortunate because I enjoy him being out in the wild and him being caged up won't be as good of a show as Will being in jail.
And woah, just watched tonights promo. Looks really interesting.

God I love the trippy visuals of Will's mind.
Also like seeing the return of Eddie Izzard, fond memories of his standup from High School and college.

Renewed for S3.
I'm about half way through S2 right now - been hooked on this and Orphan Black for the last few weeks. I read on HitFix that one reason NBC renewed is it because an agreement with some other production company makes it a lot less expensive to produce. Does this show just not get the ratings it should because it airs on Friday nights? 5/9/2014 2:03:03 PM |
dzags18 All American 5694 Posts user info edit post |
I think it would be crazy for Will to have killed Freddie. I'm sure he subdued her and explained his plan to her. I am curious how he pulled off the meat though as Hannibal said he could taste it so well. Of course its possible that Hannibal was just faking, letting Will think he believes its Freddie.
Who knows with this show, but I'm 99% positive Freddie isn't dead. 5/9/2014 3:14:13 PM |
