This is a limited series, but I definitely recommend “Death By Lightning”. Only four episodes, so it’s a quick watch, and it’s easy to get sucked into that political world of the lat 1800’s. It’s about the assassination of James Garfield.

Chester A. Arthur is played by Ron Swanson….what else could you ask for?

Yes. If the show was correct, he had an African American cabinet member. Not sure if it was the first, but yea, he had some really good ideas for the time. If he had made it, it seems like he would have made a great president.

I enjoyed the appearances by Frederick Douglass.
