I wanted to like the orville, but macfarlane is a terrible actor. If he had cast an actual good comedic actor in that role it would be good

100% with you on that one. Liam Neeson CAN be funny, but not in the same kind of slapstick way that Leslie Nielsen and Naked Gun/Police Squad is known for. Neeson is only really funny in a self-parody kind of way. If you see the clip of him with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant (I think it was from "Life's Too Short") trying to learn how to be funny, that is what he's good at.

I still think Jon Hamm was the perfect choice. The traditional Hollywood leading man archetype who could play it straight and enough comedy chops for the absurdity.

This will not do well in the box office imo. But it will actually hold its own and be worthy of a few bucks

comes out Friday. maybe it will pleasantly surprise like HG2. I know all y'all use HG2 as shorthand for Happy Gilmore 2.
