here's to arsenal winning a game before season's end
4/8/2007 1:31:08 PM
Arsenal suck. Not sure if they'll make the UEFA Cup.
4/9/2007 12:08:04 PM
you are right...they will qualify for the champions league
4/9/2007 3:45:38 PM
as much as i dislike the gunners, I have to admit that it would be boring if bolton made the champions league instead. Arsenal are really exciting in Europe especially and their team of youngsters will definately step it up next season......shades of utd 2 seasons ago maybe?
4/9/2007 5:57:07 PM
if Bolton made the Champion's League, they'd be severely outmatched, much like Everton was a few years ago
4/9/2007 8:12:14 PM
4/10/2007 9:18:05 AM
you act like liverpool and arsenal finishing 3 and 4 is a bad season. in the past 5 years arsenal has arguably been the best english club...1st london club to get to the CL final (probably should have won)...an UNDEFEATED season including an insane unbeaten streak...won the league in 03-04...they did finish 4th last year as well, heaven forbid they have a "down" year
4/10/2007 11:39:39 AM
4/10/2007 11:54:25 AM
well, someone has to finish 4th, and finishing behind those 3 isn't an insult...arsenal has finished 1st, 2nd, 1st, 2nd, and 4th the last 5 years...you absolutely cannot question what they have done domestically...yes they are in a logjam with about 4 teams right now but you know they will compete next year[Edited on April 10, 2007 at 12:24 PM. Reason : ]
4/10/2007 12:23:49 PM
oh, I'm not saying I wouldn't be happy to see another team in the CL besides the big 4, but in this particular instance, Bolton would be severely outclassed. I was pulling hard for Spurs to make it last year, and on evidence of their run in the UEFA cup this year, I think they'd have done very well in the CL.[Edited on April 10, 2007 at 12:45 PM. Reason : ahah they's]
4/10/2007 12:44:21 PM
^^ Finishing out the CL is completely unacceptable for Arsenal. Period. Finishing fourth is bad enough as it is.
4/10/2007 12:58:12 PM
they won't finish out of the CL
4/10/2007 12:59:19 PM
are the games on espn2 in HD? like
4/10/2007 1:27:33 PM
HAHAHA, wow I love how some of you jumped onto my post bout the gunners like i was accusing them of blasphemy or something!! bloody hell, in my opinion, arsenal struggling to finish 4th, so far behind utd and chelsea is a bad season. Yeah they have been the best english team in europe and also done brilliantly in the league for the last 5 years, thats precisely why finishing so far behind 1st and 2nd is a bad season!!! and as for flyingryan, i know its not their bloody birthright mate, but are you gonna disagree that arsenal in the CL would be way more interesting that seeing spurs or bolton? dunno what your "and ? " comment is all about, my point about the gunners having a bad season seems pretty accurate in'it ??
4/10/2007 2:17:29 PM
i would never call finishing behind 2 two teams with 7 combined losses a bad finish...has arsenal disappointed? yes...very young and very much injury stricken
4/10/2007 4:11:53 PM
about to watch United take Watford out behind the woodshed
4/14/2007 12:08:01 PM
pretty impressed by Watford so far.....hope Rio's injury isnt serious.
4/14/2007 1:47:44 PM
I'm a fan of the Toon, but not diehard because I never get to see many games. I think I need to start finding a way to watch all the games though. I grew up in the 90s-present as a diehard Bengals (NFL) and Tigers (MLB) fan, and I miss the erotically painful feeling of supporting terrible pro teams.[Edited on April 14, 2007 at 5:40 PM. 4/14/2007 5:39:52 PM
big win for the gunners
4/15/2007 2:13:23 AM
About damn time.. Rovers deserved that.
4/15/2007 12:22:58 PM
I saw the scoresheet before I saw the game report I saw
4/15/2007 11:49:01 PM
good to see ballack playing well again...and ronaldo signed on for 5 more years? i thought he was dying to get to spainhttp://www.uefa.com/competitions/ucl/news/kind=1/newsid=527902.html
4/16/2007 2:22:55 AM
Real Madrid is dying for him to get to spain.SAF talked some sense into him. 6 Managers in 4 years = disaster area.[Edited on April 16, 2007 at 5:37 AM. Reason : I wouldn't want to leave the best side in Europe, either]
4/16/2007 5:36:23 AM
^ OLE!!!
4/16/2007 2:02:03 PM

4/18/2007 3:08:22 AM
Jaun Pablo-Angel just got signed by the NY red bulls.62 mil or something like that.Seems like the MLS is starting to bring some half way decent players over
4/18/2007 7:55:28 AM
^ (I'm a RBNY fan)I don't think that $62 million number is right. Where did you see that? Also, Italy has lost the vote to host Euro 2012. It's going to Poland and Ukraine as a joint bid.[Edited on April 18, 2007 at 9:27 AM. Reason : .]
4/18/2007 9:14:21 AM
^it was on that espn deportes segment they have but I definately could be off.Was doing something on the comp and overheard it.[Edited on April 18, 2007 at 11:51 AM. Reason : asd]
4/18/2007 11:44:54 AM
looks like Guillermo Barros Schelotto is coming to the columbus crew from boca juniors
4/18/2007 2:49:30 PM
I know this isn't EPL related, but the salary cap for MLS teams is only $2.1 million. They have that rule where they can designate two players who's salaries won't count against the cap, but that's still low as shit.
4/18/2007 3:29:48 PM
Yeah, it's low. But you can't go from absolutely nothing to a 100 million dollar salary cap. MLS is doing the right thing... steadily increasing the salaries year to year, building a foundation, allowing young players to work through their system, and eventually they'll have better players, draw better foreign players and so on. The quality of the game is what brings fans, not bells and whistles... so if the league can progress every year, higher salaries will come with time.
4/18/2007 5:21:24 PM
JPA to RBNY is a fantastic move
4/18/2007 11:25:03 PM
They should set up a system of promotion/relegation in the future in the MLS.]
4/19/2007 4:18:13 AM
^ It's been discussed 50 million times on BigSoccer, and everytime the same answer came up, from both Americans and Europeans. It'd be great, but not in the near future.
4/19/2007 8:25:14 AM
^ I don't think it will ever happen, although it would be nice.
4/19/2007 12:58:03 PM

I don't if I'd agree with VDS, but all the rest look good to me . Berbatov has been an absolute revelation.
4/23/2007 1:37:31 AM
Here's to Charlton somehow doing the unthinkable and climbing out of the attic...Away against Blackburn and LiverpoolHome against TottenhamI realize this is next to impossible - but Fulham has a TOUGH road ahead (Arsenal and Liverpool), I'd love to see Charlton stick around the EPL for at least another season
4/24/2007 10:28:56 PM
