I hope we don't go to war against a country for the actions of terrorists. Violence often leads to more violence, I hate to think that we participate in this vicious cycle.

I'm really intrestead in why this happened. With Mr. Bushes high and mighty stance of "We will take a strong and authoritative role in (what was it???, world politics or some such thing)" combined with years of previous international decisions, we've been pissing lots of people off. Over the past few monthes I've been saying that foreigners would assasinate Bush, and she's been saying that we were going to be the target of terrorist attacks. Looks like she was right. And given the attack on Camp (David??) it looks like there's a threat of the assasination as well.

Why the WTC??? Was it just because that is the best way to kill as many Americans as possible?

I haven't heard any of the news people discuss the long term significance of the attack - outside of priceless loss of human life.

It's my understanding that the financial markets are decentralized and designed to survive things of this nature. Unless someone can correct me, I'd assume the biggest risk to world economies will be fear.
