Watched Sinners this weekend, is it the new leader for most going down on a woman content among major film studio releases? Also, enjoyed overall, but had an issue with the picture, it felt weirdly low def and too dark. Maybe my internet was just slow that night or maybe HBOs port did something weird.

^^i've seen that take elsewhere(mr terrific) and I don't get it. Not that I found him terrible, just nothing to fawn over etc

it was just fun, that's all

I enjoyed Sinners. I thought that mash-up music scene in the juke-joint was really, really cool.

I really enjoyed Superman. It was like watching a live action version of a Saturday morning cartoon. Glad to see a more colorful and happy DC universe. Lolled at the [SPOILER] Peacemaker cameo. Best Superman movie since 1981. Regarding Sinners, although I did enjoy it, it felt like a revisit of From Dusk til Dawn. Two brothers with a legally questionable past out of nowhere have to fight off a group of vampires with other survivors in a bar/club until sunrise, with one of them ultimately being turned into a vampire himself.[Edited on July 17, 2025 at 9:42 AM. How are we feeling about Happy Gilmore 2?
7/22/2025 12:03:24 AM
Is it out already? Haven't watched it, but its probably gonna suck. Top Gun is the only movie I can think of that had a sequel decades after the original that didn't suck.

Coming to America 2 felt like it was all recorded on a green screen.
7/22/2025 11:04:36 AM
I've enjoyed Mad Max Fury Road, Beetlejuice 2, Ghostbusters Afterlife, off the top of my head
7/22/2025 11:18:39 AM
^^^ yeah I don’t think it comes out until Friday. I’m gonna watch it (with a few drinks)

Coincidentally, this could be both sides of the coin bc I like Prey and Predators but the new predator trailer looks terrible

I’ll append my prior comment to apply to franchises that had no entries in decades then suddenly had a new one. Versus ones that seem to have a new entry every few years and every now and then manage to pull of a decent one. Prey was excellent and falls into that category.I’ll concede that Fury Road was excellent.

The Happy Gilmore 2 trailer makes it look like it's going to suck.
7/24/2025 10:03:31 AM
It was good

This generation's Citizen Kane imo

Just finished it. I think it can be considered good because it isn't total dog shit[Edited on July 26, 2025 at 5:14 AM. Reason : Better than coming to america sequel, worse than top gun sequel]

I enjoyed it. It was dumb, not as good as the original, but I laughed and was entertained
7/26/2025 5:19:20 PM
I stand corrected. Happy Gilmore 2 was actually pretty good. Not as good as the first but still in family with Adam Sandler’s early hits. Just the right amount of throwbacks and random cameos.
7/27/2025 1:02:17 AM
Will Zalatoris played his role well.
7/27/2025 12:43:25 PM
^^I enjoyed it too!

Any Hitchcock fans here? I just watched rope, short 80 min film from just after ww2. Some of the dialogue is really good![Edited on July 27, 2025 at 11:59 PM. Reason : Color film too]

Watched Happy Gilmore 2 the other night. I genuinely enjoyed it. I wasn’t a fan of the last 25% of the movie, but it was all in all a good throwback with new stuff added in.
