I just watched Tron again this past weekend. I guess Encom/MCP got Ed Dillinger an advance Microsoft Surface for him to play around with.

Ok well good news: They havent announced it yet, but the library just bought two of these, they should be out in the learning commons (where the videos games are currently) sometime next week. I got to to play around with it today while taking a few pictures of it for an article in the technician. I have to say it was pretty fun, kinda like a huge ipad. They said they are currently developing apps for it. Kinda surprised though that you cant browse the web with it.

I played with one at the San Diego Microsoft store over the weekend. Pretty fun. Still a tad pricey though, I think like $16k.

yeah $16K is a bit ridiculous, imo

^^^ you should be able to use this WPF app to browse the web on a Surface. it's perhaps not fully polished, or optimized for use in a touch environment, but it works

It's pretty crazy how far the Surface team has come. They have a pretty huge trickle down effect in the company, think of Surface like the Space Shuttle. Expensive and a specialty device, but the technology and solutions find their way into a ton of consumer level products and experiences.
