Worst show ever.

I've been following Aziz for a while now and I want this show to succeed, but they seriously need to stop trying to be an Office knockoff.

y'all are exaggerating. it's not that bad. let the show grow into its own; it has a great supporting cast (ron swanson and the intern are my faves). poehler and the writers have yet to hit their stride.

This show started really slow, but it is starting to build up more & more good moments during each episode. It has potential even if its not "there" yet. I'll be sticking with it.

Problem is that tina fey has all of the female comedic lead talent locked up. None left to go around for anyone else.

yep, this is how I feel. Not only does she suck but there's so much of her in an episode. It would be one thing if she was just average or even just not funny but she's just so fucking annoying I can't even watch.

i like how they keep shitting on Jimmy (is that his name? the older one in the office?) as a running gag.

wow, gg Parks and Rec - probably 5x the number of LOL moments tonight than on The Office.

or.... maybe i didn't LOL at all during The Office, and I did regularly during P&R.

And in basically a complete 180 from last season, I have gone from disliking Andy to thinking he's one of the best comedic characters on TV now.

Aziz is fucking hilarious. I used to see him open for Rubin Williams at Under St. Marks. $5 for a BYOB comedy show including a shot of Southern Comfort on the house. Great deal for Friday night in NYC.

I watched the first three episodes of this show and didn't dig it. However, I've watched the last four or five episodes and am now way into it. It's gotten a LOT better, as seems to be the general consensus here. I think there are a few key differences between this and The Office. The major one that sticks out to me is that this show is constantly introducing new characters as guest appearances from a lot of very funny people. It keeps the show somewhat fresh, at least IMO. The only guest appearance I can ever remember for The Office was David Koechner waaaaay back in Season 2 or 3, but maybe I'm forgetting someone? Anyway, I like this show. Chris Pratt and Aziz Ansari are fuckin hilarious, and Paul Schneider brings a good energy as well (although I can certainly see comparing his character to Jim Halpert).

damn ya'll really don't like parks and rec?

I love this show and am starting to love it even more than the office. aziz is the shit, so is aubrey plaza and ron, etc. the characters are great. originally the show was intended to run another half season but got the go-to for a full season because the actors are more permanent and the writers are writing to suit their specific styles so the show should get better and better.

as for "trying to be an office knock off" its from the same producers so from the beginning it has supposed to be in the same style

This show has officially won me over now. In part because it rings so true to what interacting with the government can be like (which reminds me, I'm going to a town council meeting tomorrow), but mostly because of where the characters are now. Ron's (the boss) personality and anti-gov attitude is hilarious. I'm a pretty big fan of the intern turned assistant character too.

So is this show worth watching? I forgot how much free evening time I have with no school to go to after work! I've thought Mike Schur is hilarious for a long time (ever since FMJ started) so I'm guessing the show is funny.

a good episode i thought. I'm curious to see how they will fit Rob Lowe and Adam Scott into the mix as both are joining the cast. They are already light on rashida jones and aziz ansari so i can only imagine their roles will diminish even more.

I don't know what it is about Rashida, but I'm not a huge fan of her as an actress. She is funny enough but any scenario where she is the love interest of someone else she has no comedic chemistry with the person. I'm basing this off of two shows so maybe I'm wrong.

^I think what you saw last night was the foreshadowing of that through her character, not her lack of on screen chemistry as an actress.

Perhaps... and maybe it's because she is almost "forced" in to these relationships by the writers. I guess now that I think about it it was SUPPOSED to show a lack of chemistry between her and Jim on The Office to contrast with Pam?

I just finished watching last night's episode and it was probably the funniest of the series IMO. That lunch was hilarious... as was Tom's whole photo shoot. The juice boxes, lol.
