That's like using a digital solution for an analog problem. So yeah, it's easy to throw a blanket over a large number of people and label them similar. It's also easy to convince morons that they agree with someone who agrees with their blanket ideals. This is especially true of the poor and under-appreciated. (see extremeist islam, crazy liberals and crazy conservatives)

So really, why bother? Oh yeah, because its fun and makes for fun debate. Also if you gather enough of these people and maybe beat enough of the smarter population into submission then you can do whatever you want. Because in reality, most people don't care.

I just dont like to be nailed to a group that I dont agree with 100% of the time. Its especially bad if you realize that neither side really has an ideology, they just want to be elected and hold power. I dont want to try and defend whatever the new talking point is for the upcoming election, that in reality, probably wont even be an issue once said party is in power.
