$6300. Having a roommate isn't too bad sometimes. Rent in Cary isn't that bad. I'm still probably going to buy something this year or next though. Then I'll be able to charge the roommate rent and build equity.

I'm no longer in Raleighwood. I live in Greensboro now and have a 1 bedroom place for that much. I think it was $446 the first year. It's nothing special, but it's not in a bad complex and suits one person (and a cat) fairly well. The only utils I pay are cable and power.[Edited on March 6, 2012 at 7:06 PM. Reason : ]

It's probably bigger than mine, but probably not 3x bigger.FWIW I pay $120 per month in power during peak winter/summer, so it has it's drawbacks too.[Edited on March 6, 2012 at 7:10 PM. Reason : Hell it may be 3x mine's size.]

eh... maybe. It's not really that big though. You're actually hard pressed to find a BIG apartment in DC...It's more about location than size.

I just checked and I have 540 sq. ft. here. I imagine some apartments have a bedroom that size, but you get what you pay for.[Edited on March 6, 2012 at 7:15 PM. Reason : ]
