hahaha, we are talking mad shit about the North Koreans on this. Spin is strong

4/12/2012 11:52:57 PM
Duke, does your airframe ever deploy to Korea? I know we hosted a few Marines (F-18 crews) in Kunsan.
4/12/2012 11:55:23 PM
we haven't been anywhere but Iraq or Afghanistan in 10 years...that'll prob change in the next year or two, I'd guess. Typically go to Iwakuni, Japan, but they might det from there to Korea briefly or something, I don't know.
4/13/2012 12:00:33 AM
maybe in the next year or two all that waste will be cut out and you can deploy somewhere like el paso.
4/13/2012 12:04:00 AM
4/13/2012 12:06:12 AM
Agreed on the former; the latter would also be a waste. If you have an EA-6 doing border patrol shit, you have problems. My view is that we have troops in over 100 countries. We conduct raids, strikes, and covert ops all over the place. Afghanistan doesn't need to be special. Now, as far as my specific airframe goes, if they wanted to have a small det there (maybe half a squadron) to support special forces raids, that would make sense to me.

What would our government's (or media's) motivation be for claiming that the NK rocket had blown up?You conspiracy types need to get your story straight. Either we're trying to fabricate news to justify a war, or we aren't.If we're trying to justify a war, we want the launch to be a rousing success. "See! Kim Jong Un can launch missiles at anything!"If we aren't trying to justify a war, why build up the news of the launch for the past several weeks? The only other option, conspiracy-wise, is that we wanted an excuse to cancel food aid while simultaneously keeping a lid on the desire for war. Except that doesn't make sense, either, because US farmers are all about having their food bought up by the government for any reason, including shipping it to fucking communists.Having ruled out the "most plausible" conspiracy theories, we're left with two choices:1) There's an even more elaborate conspiracy in place that has somehow been kept quiet, in spite of the need to involve thousands of people.2) North Korea, a country previously known for its inability to feed itself or do anything right, at all, ever, built a rocket that didn't work too well.I know where the smart money is.
4/13/2012 12:31:49 AM
Oh no, the soap box people have ventured over.
4/13/2012 12:47:24 AM
Oh no, the illiterate jackasses with <1000 posts are criticizing.
4/13/2012 12:48:29 AM
The clear motivation is to keep the desire for war down. We are already at war but don't want war because there is no imperial benefit. If people find out they are actually a threat, they will wonder why we are dabbling with Iran's 20% uranium while NK has icbms and nukes that reach us territory. Make NK look pathetic
4/13/2012 1:14:46 AM
Sooo...why spend the last several weeks building up the threat of this launch? Why not ignore it entirely, give them the food aid we promised shortly before, and proclaim a huge advance in peace and development?
4/13/2012 1:19:45 AM
Neighbors are scared shitless. We can't admit that we shot it down that would be an incident and provoke buildup towards war.
4/13/2012 1:28:14 AM
Bahahahaha....we shot it down? Why bother, it is North Korean tech, it shoots itself down
4/13/2012 1:40:02 AM

You realize that is a picture of a successfully launched US satellite from Vandenberg AFB, CA right?Oh I get it, you posted a random photo, without any link to the article or photocredit and hoping to imply that was the DPRK missile that 'we shot down'....[Edited on April 13, 2012 at 4:20 PM. 4/13/2012 4:34:01 PM
Sure.
4/13/2012 4:40:09 PM
You'd think someone in a military town who acted like the number one goddamn expert on flight dynamics in the F-18 thread would know a little more about missiles and such...guess not.
4/13/2012 4:43:39 PM
He knows the intricate details of 747 flight as well

My goodness again with the FF7 rocket.
4/13/2012 4:53:50 PM
so, you post a picture, not knowing what it is, then making the bold claim of 'That's how far the missile got'WAY TO FAIL, clearly this is a massive TWW conspiracy rather then you just failing on your own.
4/13/2012 5:00:01 PM
You asked me "What are you trying to say with that exactly?"I responded "that's how far the missile got."I think you're overreacting with your allegations of mal-intent.
4/13/2012 5:08:27 PM
Just calling you out for being completely wrong and trying to pass off misinformation as fact.
4/13/2012 5:11:54 PM
here's another good shot of it:

The conceptual inability of many tww users and in the general populous continues to astound me. A rocket breaking apart in the 1st-2nd stages is possible and leaves a debris trail, of which most all of it falls back to the ground/ocean. This wasn't a catastrophic launch pad detonation. For a missile 'designed' to get into orbit failing to get close is a failure. Even for a ICBM missile integrity is required to orbit (or near orbit) to be considered functional. This was a failure of both potentials.

^^Point is that your military credentials and security clearance do not belong on the internet.I don't even know you and yet I know enough. Scattered across this and a few other websites I can gather plenty of info.OPSEC - thats the point nuttrider. Nuttrider, that should be your new callsign.
4/13/2012 6:01:27 PM
Oh please, lecture us on OPSEC. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
4/13/2012 6:06:28 PM
Sure What Is OPSEC?Operations Security, or OPSEC, is keepingpotential adversaries from discovering ourcritical information. As the name suggests, itprotects our operations – planned, in progress, and those completed. Success depends onsecrecy and surprise, so the military can accomplishthe mission faster and with less risk. Ouradversaries want our information, and theydon’t concentrate on only soldiers to get it.They want you, the family member. As a family member of our militarycommunity, you are a vital player in oursuccess, and we couldn’t do our job withoutyour support. You may not know it, but youalso play a crucial role in ensuring your lovedone’s safety. You can protect your family andfriends by protecting what you know of themilitary’s day-to-day operations. That’s OPSEC.Protecting CriticalInformationEven though information may not besecret, it can be what we call “critical information.”Critical information deals with specificfacts about military intentions, capabilities, operations or activities. If an adversary knewthis detailed information, our mission accomplishmentand personnel safety could be jeopardized. It must be protected to ensure an adversarydoesn’t gain a significant advantage.By being a member of the military family, you will often know some bits of critical information.Do not discuss them outside of yourimmediate family and especially not over thetelephone.Examples Of CriticalInformation• Detailed information about the mission ofassigned units.• Details on locations and times of unitdeployments.• Personnel transactions that occur in largenumbers (Example: pay information, powers ofattorney, wills, deployment information).• References to trends in unit morale orpersonnel problems.• Details concerning security procedures.Puzzle PiecesThese bits of information may seem insignificant. However, to a trained adversary, theyare small pieces of a puzzle that highlight whatwe’re doing and planning. Remember, theelements of security and surprise are vital to theaccomplishment of our goals and our collectivepersonnel protection.• Where and how you discuss this informationis just as important as with whom you discussit. Adversary agents tasked with collectinginformation frequently visit some of the samestores, clubs, recreational areas, or places ofworship as you do.• Determined individuals can easily collectdata from cordless and cellular phones, andeven baby monitors, using inexpensive receiversavailable from local electronics stores.• If anyone, especially a foreign national, persistently seeks information, notify yourmilitary sponsor immediately. He or she willnotify the unit OPSEC program manager.OPSEC IS A FAMILY AFFAIR.All Family Members Are Part OfThe Army’s OPSEC Team.
