there was a similar "ordering lobster at a diner" sketch in one of Mulaney's other 2 episodes

[Edited on March 1, 2020 at 1:00 AM. Reason : can't recall if he had something similar in the other episode he hosted]

it was the 3rd in the series

here’s the 2nd one:

Mulaney should host once a season, every season

I'm not a huge fan of the diner lobster etc musical sketches, but all of his monologues are awesome

I liked the J Lo version of the aidy bryant/mckimmon sketch more

I just thought airport sketch was really random with jake coming in. Do him and Mulvaney have something together soon?

The i’m 33, i’m 38, i’m 41 sketch started good but got weaker over time

I enjoyed the meme sketch

Forget the other sketches would have to watch again

Musical act I didn’t understand why they booked

Um, because it's David Byrne, a legend? And they just got off a big world tour. And their show is now on Broadway. (and he appeared on a John Mulaney Netflix special).

Does all of the weekends songs sound like that first one he did? I kinda liked it. I thought he was a rapper that sounded like some 80’s joint

The Weekend's first some is a certified banger. Definitely love the New Wave sound.

^^ no, but check out Twin Shadow if you liked that.

fast forwarded through both weeknd songs. did not grab me the way earlier songs did.

i thoroughly enjoyed like 98% of the sketches though. (debbie downer felt forced)

but having james bond talk about his hot wet but and throw up on everyone was genius.

Actually hasn’t been that bad so far. Better than the weekday nightly shows like colbert/fallon, etc

I thought it was pretty good, maybe better than an average episode. Pretty neat they were able to do that.

I disagree, sure, some of the skits weren't good, but it really overall the episode didn't seem any "dumber" than usual. some of it was pretty good. my opinion, of course.

Agree with Bullet, not an A+ episode but it sure wasn’t flat out garbage either. They won’t be doing it weekly so I think it’s a fine enough format for every few weeks.

I really liked zoom sketch, bad videogamer sketch(cause thats me), vibrator breaking sketch, and petes 2000 dollars song

The audience laugh thing during weekend update i didn’t like cause it cut off their words a lot. Rgb sketch, the girl talking about movies sketch, and this is a drake song didn’t care for

I also enjoyed Middle-Aged Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the Mooney/Bennet/Armiston What's Cooking sketch, and the sports sketch about watching corn kernels pop and matches burn. And I thought Tom Hanks was good. And the Hal Wilner tribute was touching (with old cast singing Perfect Day via zoom).

The Bartensons grocery commercial had me laughing way too hard. The Pete Davidson and Adam Sandler song was solid too

The animators and editors on "What's Up With That" made something wonderful.

Also Kenan's Big Papi and the phone taped to the ceiling that fell into the pot. lol
