TDS was kind of a thing among some people in 2016-17, but it's laughable whenever you see MAGA bring it up now. It isn't even hate for Trump, people are just tired of the bullshit, it's like a sick joke at this point

This administration is a joke

I don't see how anyone with any inkling of hope for the future or anyone who's a forward thinker, even someone who may support deportations and be against illegal immigrants, can have their heart in supporting these guys

Clean energy jobs? Republican senators: NO!
Alligator Alcatraz jobs? YES! BRING IT TO MY STATE TOO MR. PRESIDENT

They're making Alligator Alcatraz merchandise... wtf?

It isn't just what their goals are, it's how idiotic their way of doing it is. One day all these enablers in Fox News and other places, who are so caught up in the present, are going to look back and be shocked by what they allowed to happen

Quote :
" Now Can We Stop Talking About What a Maverick Trump Is?

Perhaps the most underappreciated fact about President Trump is that he is a Republican.

People know he is a Republican, of course, but this is often treated as incidental to his political persona. He is a Republican, sure, but he’s not a Republican in the way that Speaker Mike Johnson or John Thune, the Senate majority leader, are Republicans. As nearly every commentator under the sun has observed for the past decade, Trump is unique — and to his critics, transgressive — in ways that defy traditional categorization.

And yet, as an actual office holder, the most salient detail about Trump is that he is a Republican politician committed to the success of the Republican Party and its ideological vision. In this way, he is little more than a vehicle for the policy agenda of the most conservative Republicans, willing to sign whatever they might bring to his desk."

^ Thats all true. But for me personally and I think a lot of other people, calling him different than other republicans Is meant to be an off ramp for average republican voters. MAGA is an evil ideology but we can’t survive if 50% of the country is embracing evil.

Yeah, I mean, I don't exactly have the experience of being there, but it doesn't really seem like the Republicans have wanted to do anything new other than work against what there is and what there could be for quite some time now.

My beliefs on things are pretty simple, no matter what you do, you have to be forward thinking. Just to balance the scales, we say that we need "conservatives" to make sure we go don't go "too far", but in reality that's not what the Republicans are at all. The same for when we say "oh what happened to those Republicans like [old middle aged veteran in a suit with a red tie]", but what we're referring to isn't any better other than the lack of profanity and vulgarity -- it was that which led to this and is that which is enabling it.

The current Republican party is just there by the virtue of being there: they don't deserve to be. Imagine if we had a party that actually was what the Republican party said it was, it would be pretty great actually -- despite whatever disagreements I may have with some of those ideas. The parties don't mean anything, they're groups of interests and teams tagged together. Sure, the Democrats may also have special interests... but at least they also have some vision.

Quote :
"we’re 10 years into this"

My life significantly changed around the time Trump came into the scene. And it will significantly change in the next 2-3 years. This whole segment started and will end with him being there. I can actually think of different parts of it and how fast things have changed in terms of what the sentiment was on his administration at the time or what stage he was at.

Dude... MAGA lost their shit over Epstein. It's a significant part of their base, for fuck's sake. QAnon conspiracy theories are built around the idea that Trump is taking down the child paedo rings run by Democrats... 3 of the biggest players in that world are in now in charge of the investigations and are coming back with "welp, there's nothing..."

I mean, this would be like if Trump lambasted a world leader in the Oval office on live TV for saying Putin can't be trusted, only for Trump to later come out and say Putin can't be trusted

I would be surprised if the Epstein thing is a sticking point a month or two from now, just based on him getting out of everything, but I dunno if people will completely get over this. They might still vote straight R and stuff, but I think this is just yet another thing that give some of his supporters a wake up call about who he is

For me the big deal is the flip.

How many MAGAs, for years, hinted that Epstein was killed because Clinton (or the Clintons) were on the list?

Now it’s a nothingburger? Bullshit. They need to stand by what they said and release whatever there is. Let Ghislaine talk.

^ i have seen both sides:

some MAGAts are pissed with trump and co for denying there is anything to see and sweeping it under the rug. i have seen videos of people burning their MAGA hats. those with platforms are calling him out on their channels. i hope they keep bringing the issue up and never forget about it.

then there are others (hardcore QAnon believers) who say it's part of an 8D chess game he is playing. they say if he releases the list now, people will scramble, run away, destroy evidence, etc. so, trump's goons are going around arresting pedos in the background when they least expect it.

oh, i forgot: there are some who think there is stuff to be revealed, but that trump shouldn't reveal it because if all the biggest people from politics, industry, and other sectors are there, and if they are arrested, it will ruin the country, as in, bring it to a standstill.

when you are so stupid (and immoral) that your stupidity spouts its own ultra-stupidity....

^^ I honestly don’t even think it’s that complex. I think Trump supporters will just be cool with whatever he says. If he says it’s old news and nothing to worry about now then I think the vast majority of his people will believe that. It doesn’t haven’t to be 8D chess or whatever. People believe what he says. Conservative media and social media will just parrot his talking points. And his supporters that consume that shit won’t care that it contradicts what they believed a few months ago.

I don't think the Epstein thing is a big deal for Trump, because he's always personally kept his distance from the whole thing (largely because he's been balls deep in it for decades). Trump can pivot away from it easily, and the MAGA base will accept it.

The folks who will have a hard time pivoting away from it are those who were harping on it so loud, Ka$h, Bongino, etc, because they are now the ones running it and are flipping on the things that basically made them famous. They are the ones who are screwed. It'd be like if Elizabeth Warren was made head of the CFPB and started approving everything every bank asked of her and dropped all outstanding investigations into wrongdoings by financial institutions.
