My son just got circumcised on Tuesday. First time I ever saw one right after it was done. Looks really painful. The entire head is blood read. Definitely worth it though.

Fumbler, i read your post three times and i still don't know where you stand on the issueand you're allowed to have a gunfuck

^^I'm against circumcision, male or female. However, I understand that I can't make anyone do anything and I don't want to force my views on anyone. In the end it's not my kid.In the real world if the subject comes up I kindly offer my opinion and try to educate people if they'll hear me. People generally value my opinion more than others and I'm a lot more tactful irl.If someone still says they're going to do it that's ok with me. It would be equally ok with me if they did it to a girl. It's physiologically the same. It's only different if you're a sheep who's allowed society to warp your mind without giving it a second thought.I try to explain to people that cleanliness and health are not the right reasons to do it. There are studies that go either way but there are more studies that are not in favor or at least say there's no reason to do it. Seriously, how would a circumcised man who, for most of their lives, thinks all penises are circumcised know if an uncircumcised penis is any dirtier than their own?How is it not healthy? How many uncut boys get UTIs? If anything, we really should circumcise girls because I'm sure less skin would mean less bad bacteria (just the inner labias at the hospital, not cutting every damn thing off with a sharp rock in the middle of the fucking sahara). I'm not serious about promoting female circ, just looking at things objectively.IMO the only reasons to do it are religion, tradition, or aesthetics. However, if you're christian and claim religion then you're an idiot. I've had some people claim that very thing and I tell them to check out galatians.I actually respect anyone who is man enough to say "yeah, I understand it has no physical benefit, but I just like the way it looks." At least they're not lying to themselves. It's a lot like telling my wife "ohh...I need this gun because it's a single stack version of my other gun and would be better for concealed carry." Bullshit, lol. I just wanted it for no good reason. No good reason is better than a lie.Having said that about aesthetics, I still don't like that justification but who the hell cares? People pierce their infant girls' ears all the time and I don't believe that's right either.Lol, imagine what kind of shit I'd get for doing this to my baby:In my mind it's all the same. Social norms don't make circumcision, ear, or taint piercings ok for a baby.My kid can decide what it wants to do with its body when I feel that it's mature enough to make those decisions (or when they turn 18, whichever comes first). In the mean time it's my job to protect it and subjecting it to cosmetic surgery (circumcision for those too dense to get me) is not protecting it. Just look at all the horror pics of circumcisions gone wrong or read the stories about boys having sex reassignment surgery as a 5 day old baby because of a doctor's mistake. The sad thing is no one will ever know how big a problem botched circumcisions are because there are probably a ton of guys too embarrassed to come forward or too ignorant to know there's a problem. Not to mention no doc is going to tell you how many they screw up if no one catches it.So...that's all I have to say.^Fair enough. Lets pretend I said inner labia.[Edited on March 16, 2012 at 12:25 AM. Reason : carrots carets]

Fumbler, are you claiming that male circumcision and female circumcision as it is actually practiced are physiologically equivalent? Or are you just equating male circumcision with this hypothetical type of female circumcision that is rarely actually performed (hood removal only)? As an aside it's pretty clear from this thread that you don't exactly know your way around a vagina.[Edited on March 16, 2012 at 7:15 AM. 3/18/2012 7:49:39 AM
thats a ridiculous comment as well, its only obviously wrong when done for aesthetic reasons (i'm not touching the religious issue, this thread is already too soapboxy)

^hey, that's pretty cool. Like I said, it comes down to aesthetics and religion/tradition and I can't tell someone they're wrong if any of those are their justification (I still obviously don't agree).[Edited on March 18, 2012 at 8:56 PM. Reason : ^^I'm sorry you can't read. Seriously, I'm sorry. ]

So...back to one of the core questions...if no data can give you solid evidence that male circumcision provides health benefits, is it worth the risk of having your boy end up with a penis that looks like ?And that's far from the worst...

Why don't these parents today just leave the fucking wanker in tact? It's not like our generation. In 30 years if you polled a bar about who had their foreskin cut I bet it would be a very different story because it's not an obvious choice for parents in 2012. If in doubt (which I know you are) then do the option that doesn't involve a knife. I mean holy shit is that so hard?

^^likeThat's what I really don't understand. Some parents just aren't sure what to do so they end up circumcision the kid. The default shouldn't be to go along with a potentially hazardous surgery, the default should be to do nothing. If there is a problem that pops up later then fix it later.[Edited on March 18, 2012 at 11:13 PM. Reason : ^mad because you can't read. You probably have an ugly penis too and never noticed til now]

My SO and I havd talked about this before.I'm cut and don't see any reason why it was done other than for "sociatal norms". I have seen and heard of circumcision gone wrong and presented this evidence to my SO.She didn't care. She wants her son cut because she wants his dick to look "normal".WTF? It has become a major issue and I see no resolution or compromise. How the hell do you compromise on this issue?
3/19/2012 6:59:44 AM
fact: Europeans, in general, do not practice circumcision.[Edited on March 19, 2012 at 8:59 AM. Reason : foreskin edit]
3/19/2012 8:57:15 AM
Hmmm, I'll move us to Europe and then uncut is normal Really, I see this as an American ignorance and fear of the unknown problem.Dicks are gross, cut or uncut, and a chicks reaction is going to be similar the first time she experiences one. As far as lasting longer goes, that isn't a dick issue, thats a brain thing. Dick control is learned and comes with experience (no pun).
3/19/2012 9:20:49 AM
You could have just half the foreskin removed. Like, the left or right half lol. You should show her pics of circumcisions gone wrong and force her to actually reason through it. Most people refuse to actually think about it in detail. Like bottombaby pointed out, they don't want to see it either. If someone wants it done they should easily be able to stomach the procedure pics.Maybe just start with her reasoning through it. "Normal" doesn't count or else every A cup woman would get breast implants and every short dude would get femur elongation prodecdures. [Edited on March 19, 2012 at 10:35 AM. Reason : ]
3/19/2012 10:31:35 AM
honestly, we are the last generation that will see it as normal. in many areas in the US it is approaching a 50/50 split and has steadily declined over the years. in some regions among school students cut is actually in the minority. as a child care provider i saw more and more uncut little boys. parents are now questioning the procedure and for many it just doesn't make sense or seem worth it.
3/19/2012 11:35:45 AM
I have had people try to rationalize that there are complications with uncut dicks too. My respone to that is to fix the problems as they arise (again, no pun). There is a small percentage of tight foreskin... easily fixed and not as bad as circumcision.I want my foreskin back![Edited on March 19, 2012 at 5:40 PM. Reason : ]
