I recently finished the entire book series, and am working through the last couple tie in novellas. Really really enjoyed the books, and the show actually stayed pretty damn faithful to the source material (even incorporating the side novella material as well). I want to go back and watch the series again.

^^It's very well done, and since I have recently watched it, I am open to discussion / commentary, as I've been unsuccessful getting anyone else to watch it. I don't push it, as that would be tacky and annoying, but I just mention it as a recent good watch for general fans of the genre and those looking for a new series to binge. I think my brother-in-law will watch it eventually.

Its pretty good. Sometimes the chest thumping by the 5, soon to be 4 remaining survivors is a little over dramatic. I wish there had been a little more back story? I mean it just jumps straight into the middle of the story it seems. Maybe let audience know more about OPA, and just generally how the universe works. Writers are good at putting characters at what seems a dead end and keeping it going. These ppl like never shower either!!! The one iranian(kinda make her seem indian on show) lady must have used to smoke cigs or something, her voice is so annoying! The detective character and that whole arc seems off right now. Like totally unrelated to the other part of the story of the ppl on the rosinante. I guess only thing that ties them together is that Mao broad, and the OPA "stealth" weapon? Idk right now the detective thing just seems strange, but I can see them tying it in. I kinda dislike the look of his character anyway with that gay ass hat, etc. And who didn't see the police chief turning on him?? Feel bad about Holden losing his poontang in the pilot, i feel like him and nagata are gonna hook up. Its funny how quick ppl change, like those Mars police like interogating them, then all the sudden homeboy like dies saving them. Fred Johnson dude thinks hes got them then all the sudden Holden makes a deal and they go on their way. Few other times where its all the sudden some 180 turn or "convenience" in the story that kinda doesn't make sense but keeps things moving

Hoping to get to at least episode 3 or 4 of season 2 by the end of today

Well i was an episode away from detective dude being brought together with the rocinante peeps. They changed intro on episode 9, long as fuck too at like 1hr30min for finale

Up to episode 1 of season 2 now, see my holden/nagata bwning guess didn't take long

Season 1 actually lowest rotten tomatoes, 2-5 are like 100%, 6 is 96, 1 is like 78

Rotten tomatoes kinda sucking now anyways, hear metacritic is better

The character played by the Iranian lady is supposed to be Indian. She definitely chain smoked or still does. It was annoying to me also, but the character grew on my over time. Her husband is played by the guy who played Pakistani restauranteur Babu Bhatt on Seinfeld, but he's actually British Israeli from Indian and Iraqi parents.

There are some strong characters in this show.

Seems like a prequel and/or sequel type series would be easy if there was an appetite for it, but doubt this show has enough groundswell of support to get it made

The reason I watched or even was aware of this show was because people said that the way For All Mankind storylines had been developing, it could conceivably be viewed as an unofficial prequel to The Expanse. But they aren't actually related. I saw that in the YouTube comments somewhere.

It's on Apple TV. It's also pretty good, and still under active development. They are about to come to out with Season 5 of a planned 7 season story arc. It's an alternate history sci-fi show.

Amos has got to be the best character on this show. Then Alex. I like documentary lady was wanting to bwn amos but he said no. Then cameraman i guess thought he might be homo since he declined the lady, so asked Amos if he had a chance lol

So far it almost seems like season 3 is like 2 halves. Like tied up stuff in episode 6, episode 7 with intro of the guy with big scar on face, naomi not on rocinante, etc seem tonally different so far

Yeah i kinda don't get that. Feel like i've seen them twice, and heard them mentioned a few times, but don't really get the significance. I thought i hated miller but now that he is coming back as holden seemingly loses his mind, i kinda missed him.

Still at episode 8 but not feeling this documentary crap with creepy cameraman fucking with ship, not feeling arc with guy who clearly wants to be captain on whatever ship naomi is on now(maybe if an episode or 2 but feel this is gonna go on rest of season at least), not feeling arc of lady that keeps crying and sweating a lot that put explosive and killed the guy who played the janitor in the movie the breakfast club

So whats the deal with the proto-molecule? Like it was some bad ass blue creature that fed off radiation. It was contagious turning others blue and badass. Then miller and julie mao(who was infected and blue) were on eres and i guess julie had it hit venus instead of earth. And then all the sudden the proto-molecule ceased being some bad ass blue alien thing into a ship that then formed a ring near saturn. And now they did something to open up a bunch of "wormholes" into other systems?

I guess my question is, how did proto-molecule go from alien creature thing, to some giant wormhole ring thing?

Anyways, couldn't take it anymore and googled the age difference between smoker voice lady, and her new husband(that i guess is only in season 4 they must have wrote him off he sucked so bad)- She was born 1952, he was born 1970

Excited for season 5 and 6, I think 4 has been the worst of the 4 so far. 2, 1, 3, 4. Still really well done TV!

I like how season 5 went back to showing a little bit, getting to a decent point of intrigue, and then doing the intro. Maybe too early to tell, and I might be wrong about season 4, but I feel like season 4 and so far I am sure season 5 didn't do the "previously on the expanse" intro. Perhaps I just like that recapping method cause I am watching them all so closely, its easy to forget something I saw 8 hours ago

Just finished season 5. Initially thought i would like more than season 4, but 2nd half of the season just kind of slow. 2, 1, 3, 4, 5

Certainly glad amazon kept it going, but definitely seems syfy got the best of it

Really glad they didn't recast alex when deviating from the books(which i haven't and won't read)- to only have 6 episodes left would have been too weird. Wish they could have done some reshoots to give alex a better farewell. Read they kinda do in season 6 but certainly seemed missing at the end of episode 10

I'm like totally gay for amos now. I don't like how his hair was longer in season 4 and 5. He had(perhaps has) a podcast with crew member named ty. Called it Ty and "that guy" podcast.

Didn't really like Holdens hair in season 5, and pretty much aint like naomis hair since after season 3 lol

Anyways, bummed out I'll be done with this tomorrow. Trying to think of more stuff to discuss
