He's our boy and all, but everyone in the NFL but his head coach thinks he's a career back up.

everyone in the nfl thinks his head coach is an average college coach that has no business being in the nfl

they're right about that

we'll see about glennon. most of the NFL though RW was a WR or back up QB too

They thought that about Brady and Warner too. He's never going to be that level of talent but says a lot about the knowledge of talking heads.

No one thought RW was going to be playing WR. The common refrain was that he was borderline 1st rounder if it wasn't for his size.

Glennon has near prototypical size and arm strength, the question has been about his decision making and ability to recognize coverages. It's a pretty huge difference.

He also really struggles manipulating the pocket.

Dude can be the next Matt Ryan if his team has a good coaching staff. Ryan wouldn't be the (almost) elite QB he if he wasn't in a solid franchise like ATL

To be fair, it's gotta be pretty damn hard to predict the career trajectory of a 22 year old.

Made some bad decisions near the end today, but he played well enough for a rookie in his first game on a bad team.

He's going to struggle to have any sort of success this year but a part of that is due to the entire team having issues right now.

I mean, v-jax, mike Williams, Doug Martin, pretty strong d.. He's in a pretty good situation, except maybe his o-line (which I realize is maybe most important) but.. It's not like they're the jags or something

The fact that they're 0-4 and people are starting to discuss Schiano's job security tells me otherwise. There are very good position players but the unit as a whole is having trouble at the moment.

I route for the guy, but I'll admit I didn't think he'd ever be an NFL started. Thanks for proving me wrong Glennon!

I did. I dont think he'll be very good because his strengths/weaknesses dont align wjth todays nfl. Hes definitely a throwback qb that woulda succeeded im the 80s and 90s.

But clearly he has one of the strongest arms ever. Thats gonna get a look in the nfl regardless

I am happy for Glennon. The fact that he is outplaying both EJ Manuel and Geno Smith is good to see as well. The best QBs in the league are still your classic dropback, strong arm guys like Manning, Brees, Brady, Rivers. There is a still place in the NFL for guys like Glennon.

Rivers' arm is not strong.

He has a very accurate deep ball, but he doesn't throw the kind of bombs that Flacco/Stafford/Newton can. His long passes are basically rainbows.

Brees also has a fairly weak arm for a good QB.
