Page 5^^^^^ Oh right(about breathalyzer device)*Spoilers*Glad zosia and carol bwned. Wraith I think nailed it with the whole antenna speculation. So was kepler-22 planet where they were originally from or what? She mentioned something about being grateful to them, like they wouldn't be on earth without them. But also said something like they are too far away to learn about. I think the collective genuinely is excited for carol to write something new]

Kepler 22 is where the signal originated, I don't think we'll know anything about them or if that's where the virus originated. I suspect it's either too far for the hive mind to work or they're all dead

Carol definitely seems more susceptible to giving in to the hive mind than Manousos does, but she still seems very resistant.

She has a lot of trust that they don't read her white board?
12/20/2025 2:14:00 AM
Seems like that would go against their rules or whatever. I mean if Zosia actually saw the whiteboard, the whole hive would know. But they didn't know about the train horn, etc, so there seem to be things she can do in private that they don't know about.

I'm not totally convinced Carol truly believes that loneliest sound thing about trains. Almost seemed like a test

Last ep of season moved up to Wed release which i believe means 11pm central on 22nd

—— spoiler ——Good watch so far. Get Truman show vibes at times, and it was interesting the part of seeing where the signal came from, feel like that scene will be important at some point.Spoiler just to throw my overall theory out. Aliens send the signal out to planets ahead of their actual invasion, humans(or whatever is on the planet) gets infected, works as one to build a new antenna to send the signal to the next planet, dying out slowly while using up no resources and just eating themselves. 10 years from now humans are gone and aliens get to settle the planet with the signal being sent on to the next spot of invasion. Carol has to reverse this, then we fight off the aliens. Or not.

So an interesting thing about Kepler-22b is that it was actually discovered a few years ago as a planet in the habitable zone of its local star. Astronomers have predicted that given its size/color/etc., it could very plausibly have liquid water on the surface, and a chance of actual alien life. I actually do public outreach stuff on space, and whenever students ask about aliens, I mention Kepler-22b.Given that it is 600 light years away, if the alien race that sent the signal in Pluribus is still there/alive, it would be impossible to communicate real time. I think ultimately it might end up being an in-universe explanation for the Fermi Paradox -- some alien race somewhere started broadcasting the signal and any time any other life gets intelligent enough to understand it, they get turned into a collective.
