so the most produced years of the new gto 05 and 06 are faster than the G8 GT

again, rear seat access is crap, but once your back there its roomy.

Suspension issues can be worked out (as on most cars in the 30k range there are limitations).

Why do you keep saying that... you do not appear to be engaged in a conversation with anyone?

Are you socially awkward or just the worst troll ever?

I'm not going to debate the GTO. Here are my feelings on that particular Pontiac

http://gearheads.org/the-car-that-killed-pontiac-the-2004-2006-gto/

The its "faster" stock argument means jack shit to me, since I can currently rape 90% of the cars that were "faster stock".

Don't get me wrong i love the goat i just don't see his point..

an o5 with no scoop and a monster LS stroker under the hood would be tons of fun since it pretty much looks like a gran prix 2 door.

With the help of my G8 friends I now have all the tools necessary in my garage. Now I'm waiting for confirmation that my super busy tuner has enough time to exchange tunes/logs and we are a go for this weekend.

this is one of those times that i know i'm better off having my wife in my life... but i'm jealous of the reduced fiscal responsibility of others because i make damned good money and could have a sick car in no time if we didn't have such a damned nice house.. lol.

You are lucky to have someone that tells you no, and has the authority to do so. My GF has tried it and...yea she got the we not married riot act.

Now I'm just hoping my stall will play nicely with the new power, I really don't want to drop the trans again on jack stands to go back to the stocker.

nice going BJ.
....Antek has/had a GTO, right?

For me,as the old hymn says "No turning back, No turning back"....We're up to stage #9 weight reduction now. For anyone interested I'll give the following:
- removed carpet/padding/foam/headliner/back support/speakers = 73#
- removed dash and contents = 50#

I'm current thinning the wiring harness inside the cab, I've LITERALLY pulled off 5# of tape, loom material and unnecessary wires and connectors this far. 20yr old electrical tape is a sticky, nasty mess. Once I get it cleaned up I'm going to scope out the harness under the hood and find a way to re-route the ECM and wiring back inside the cab. THe only wires necessary under the hood will be the ABS, alternator, tach pick-up, gauges and fuel shut-off.

For a mental picture of this wiring nightmare I've chosen, the main connectors and pass-thru are on driver side of the firewall. The PCM/ECM is mounted on passenger firewall in engine bay, and harness runs across cowl to driver side. it T's, with part running to driver front inner fender with a fuse-block and front end sub harness (lights, airbag sensors, etc), and the other part passes into the cab. THe harness in the cab has the fuse panel on driver side of dash, then it runs across toward passenger side for all accessories, rear wheel ABS box and airbag box. So far I've only errantly cut (1) wire

I'd like to see some pictures Are you going full race truck now?

I'm too excited about doing this install. I was going to start tonight but I got the GF tickets to see Kevin Hart's show tonight. First thing tomorrow I'll be in the garage working

I don't plan to track the new setup for a while, just going to get used to the new power. Its a big jump from 420whp to 600+whp.

I'll be leaving the SRS/Airbag system and rear wheel abs systems to keep it street legal and inspectable. the rest of the truck will be 'race' for all intents and purposes

Looks clean, easily the most done up none ghetto maxima I've ever seen.

I'd like to see it on some concave black wheels.

I out did myself with this one. I managed to do it all in 2 days of work, and it cranked up with no leaks or loose connections.

I ran out of hose so ignore that random hose from the right, its my brake boost, I'll be buying a really long section and running it around behind the blower, and under the fuel rail so its hidden. Sadly I have to do some modding to my engine cover to get it to fit...

i haven't done anything to it in the last few weeks, but I'm getting kinda tired of people driving their cars into my Honda.

On my work commute, while crossing bridges, women have changed lanes into my right front fender twice in the last 5 weeks despite my leaning on the horn the entire time.

Pro tip, either follow or pass, NEVER stay in the blind spot more than a few seconds because most people are complete morons and do everything but drive when behind the wheel.

At least you get a free paint job out of it.

I was passing in both cases.

hell the first one even SAW me apparently at some point, but misjudged the speed differential and changed lanes right into the side of me, despite a lengthy horn blast.

Holy shit this thing MOVES.

CR-V Changed spark plugs... Then had Socket get stuck in hole.

Pulled plug, but didn't have any anti-size (NKG come pre-coated)... So ran to store to get anti-seize

put plug back in and probably over tightened (gasket was already crushed and did 1/2 a turn) torque wrench didn't click, but on re-checking it did... runs okay so not going to worry about.

DL-1000
Was going to do a Throttle Body Sync (and add extensions), but after all the damned work of getting everything off (Tank fairings) I've done the following

Change Spark plugs to iridium (Front is kinda a bitch)
Change Coolant
Change Air-Filter
Built Homemade manometer
Now I need to put it back together to do the Throttle Body Sync.

^ Sure, it won't be this week but we can make that happen. I'm still logging/tuning on it. I plan to take it to the tuners this weekend to get it finalized. So far so good.

181kpa, right at 12psi as I was expecting.

And yes I immediately got those shift points bumped down a few hundred.

I've gotta replace a bunch of seals underneath the cowl of the Integra to fix a water leak. It's been killing my blower motors (plural b/c I've replaced it twice ). Currently no HVAC of any kind in the Teg

^^Yes I'm plan to get 2 of the scan gauges and the wide band attachment. But of course the gauge pod setup is another $800 and has to be ordered from Australia, and the gauges are $300+ a piece. I'm sorta tired of spending money on it at the moment. For now I'm leaving it on the rich side until I take it to the tuner so he can put in his wide band and dial it in properly.

I've been monitoring the fuel trims and they look pretty good, it stays slightly rich side for the most part. My gas mileage actually got better with this install and retune. A whole 3 MPG better, my old N/A tune was RICH. If you notice in that scan I'm at 90% throttle and the trims at 0,0,Negative 1, Negative 1

Fuel trims went to shit on the way home in traffic, ordered a wideband to be safe. smoothcrim
Me thinks I have unmetered air getting in somewhere, but I'll find out after I send these scans.

The problem was in the tune, Flashed a new tune and its back on the rich side like I like it.

I swear trying to find some where to log a WOT pull is the hardest thing to do in Raleigh.

Which wideband do you have?

I ordered this one...

http://www.amazon.com/AEM-30-4110-UEGO-Ratio-Gauge/dp/B00N3VGPYS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1430871569&sr=8-1&keywords=wideband

Did they ever make the uego easier to log? Or do you still have to rig up a sub cable?

^if you have a standalone (that supports direct wideband logging) you can wire the 0-5v to the ecu input and have the ecu read the value. This not only allows easy logging but you can use the wideband for closed loop operation.
another option for logging with aem is the serial>usb adapter and running it to a laptop like that

I have HPtuners Standard so I can't plug it into the box for logging. I mainly want it so I can eye ball it while driving.

With that said I know a bunch of G8 guys that don't run gauges. We don't really need them with our ECM since it's going to throw codes if its too rich/lean. We just have to know "If that check engine light comes on, baby it home and hook up the scanner"

I don't know my work schedule as of yet... Once I get a solid/stable cashflow, I'll pick up some rims and tires and start participating...
