If we ever have a meet or you make it to C&C I'm going to have to take you for a ride. Honestly I can't think of another car 2009 and newer that is a better car to build than a G8. Relatively cheap, roomy, and LS powered.
This morning I blew the tires off it at 65 in 3rd gear at 60% throttle. Log shows wheel speed going from 65 to 99 in half a second. 5/7/2015 9:22:19 AM |

I just downloaded that program, I'll try and get a good 3rd gear pull logged and pop it in and see. You should know I don't care about dyno's, my dyno is the 1/4 mile slip. When I took the snout down to Mayhem to have the pulley swapped, I told the owner my fullset "That should easily be a 600whp setup". 5/7/2015 5:44:42 PM |

Tuned it up. Had an exhaust leak ($2.40 fix) and the Bank 1 upstream 02 sensor was out of whack, so I ended up replacing it ($104 from dealership, couldn't find anything cheaper local) The vette is much smoother now, pulls a little harder... Oh man... Just wish I had a 2nd set of rims/tires for the drift event this weekend...

Desperately needing tires
Going to be a fucking idiot and go with 4 Dunlop zII star specs
You know, because daily driving needs a sticky as shit tire that's going to need replacing in 10k miles 5/8/2015 12:26:18 AM |

For the life of me I can't figure out virtual dyno, and in the interest of not killing myself or getting one hell of a ticket I'm not even going to try anymore. It keeps saying I have 6500hp....JUNK 5/8/2015 3:20:25 PM |

send me the spreadsheet too
make sure you input the gear ratios and make sure you have it set to whatever gear you did your run in. Also make sure the weight of your car and the size of your tires is accurate. last thing is to make sure your actually getting full 100% tps...if not we can modify the chart so that virtual dyno can read the data 5/8/2015 5:58:29 PM |

Yea, no joke. I managed to stretch this last set to just under 15, but that's out of sheer laziness. They need replacing badly.

Turbo is in pieces, center section and turbine/shaft are in the dip tank to try and get all the coked oil off. Cheap ass Amazon rebuild kit ready to install.
That's of course my cheapass spare turbo. Teeny tiny Garrett GT1752. Hardly fitting for a 2.0, but better than nothing.
Currently, car with original turbo is going thru more than a gallon of oil in a week. I've GOT to find time to get this done. This kinda thing is almost monthly, but what can you expect with a 200k+ SAAB? 5/13/2015 4:47:02 PM |

Don't bother with cut-n-weld stuff. It's labor intensive and never perfectly even from side to side.
If you want better bolt-on front knuckles, do it right the first time and just get PBM knuckles. They're 1pc forged, the holes and surfaces are CNC'd dead accurate, the LCA and tie rods holes are dropped 45mm down from the spindle for much needed bumpsteer correction, and the tie rod hole is closer to the LCA hole for a quicker steering ratio.
I have those knuckles on my car and they make a WORLD of difference in steering feel. My input feels much smoother and more precise now. And most importantly, no more horrendous bumpsteer.

Lengthened FLCAs are beneficial, but not necessary to use those knuckles. As for tie rods... S14, Q45, Maxima, and a handful of other Nissan/Infiniti cars of that era shared the same thread and shank sizes, they just had varying lengths. You can mix-n-match to get the extra length needed.
For future reference, there's a short list of inner tie rod lengths at the bottom of Post #2 here. If you poke around Zilvia/Google long enough, you can probably find lengths of various outers as well.
