what would you do if your son was at home, crying all alone on the bedroom floor, cause he's hungry, and the only way to feed him is to sleep with a man for a little bit of money cause his daddy's gone, in and out of lock down, somewhere smoking crack now[Edited on December 12, 2007 at 3:01 PM. We rarely talked about anything pagan (except halloween) in my younger days (swift creek elem, east cary mid, cary high). Probably the man's way of holdin the white man down. But you have to love when a medical anomaly is called a "miracle", there was a reason you were given a .5% chance at living... ˜995 people died of the same thing. It's not a miracle, its Darwinism at its finest.

this is one of the few moments where i've been impressed by tww.thank you for tearing away at the complete self-righteousness of this thread's thesis.it almost brings a gleeful tear to my eye.

12/13/2007 3:25:09 AM
I also enjoy a good Easter.Chocolate rabbits and painting eggs...it's party time!Plus the whole resurrection bit is fucking baller.
12/13/2007 8:23:43 AM
^ Yeah, me too. I can't deny that Easter is a completely religious holiday, but even thought I'm not a believer anymore, I still like doing the things I grew up doing.
12/13/2007 9:11:08 AM
i think it's pretty clear why things happen the way they do in society: people like DRINKING, FUCKING, and SPENDING. (in no particular order)
12/13/2007 9:16:20 AM
12/13/2007 9:55:38 AM
yes... their Lordnot mineI'll never prostrate myself before a God or a king ever again
12/13/2007 10:17:23 AM
i shouldn't dignify the original post with a response, but the answer isbecause I like being with my family, giving and getting gifts, and the good food. why would you NOT celebrate it?
12/13/2007 10:30:11 AM
I was thinking...many people just celebrate the spirit of gift giving, fellowship, and love that is related to Christmas, without focusing much on the religious side.(has this been mentioned already?)

11/2/2008 6:43:16 PM
hahahaLET'S GO!
11/2/2008 6:43:55 PM
That's why I call is Xmas. Besides, jesus wasn't even born on Dec 25.
11/2/2008 6:58:04 PM
there is a ton of idiocy itt.
11/2/2008 7:06:47 PM
Dude, who the fuck doesn't want presents, regardless of the status of your Jesus (or lack thereof)?
11/2/2008 7:07:54 PM
11/2/2008 7:09:54 PM
11/2/2008 7:11:22 PM
I am celebrating Christmas at the bar.
11/2/2008 7:15:50 PM
Oh, can't we just give up this argument. Stop thinking that no Christians know that Christmas started off as a Pagen holiday. Christians should see this as an opportunity to "make disciples of all nations" and not deny non-Christians the right to celebrate this holiday. Don't fight with them but instead act like a Christians and show them the new meaning of Christmas which in modern day is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.Although I think many people...regardless of religion....have seen the problem with the mass commercializing of Christmas and many of those people try to get back to the true spirit of Christmas...

11/2/2008 7:23:13 PM
11/2/2008 7:25:25 PM
I like presents. Also, practically none of the traditions surrounding Christmas are overtly religious, so I mean, why be a party pooper? I'd celebrate Hanukkah and Kwanzaa too if it involved paid vacation.
11/2/2008 7:27:45 PM
^^Haha...that's true. I guess it's a good thing that the most important Christian holiday isn't Christmas.[Edited on November 2, 2008 at 7:29 PM. Reason : ]
11/2/2008 7:28:35 PM
i, too, like presents
11/2/2008 7:29:14 PM
i, too, like atheists
11/2/2008 7:34:12 PM
The OP seems to assume that agnostics and atheists hate organized and doctrinal religions. I don't care what you do on your own time, I think it's a bit silly sure and dislike when you get all up in my face with it, but as long as your religion doesn't require my observance you can do whatever the fuck you want
11/2/2008 7:39:15 PM
christmas hasn't ever been about jesus' birthday
11/2/2008 7:42:42 PM
christmas is a secular holiday
11/2/2008 10:46:25 PM
