72 chips on the bumper

^ dude I'd be fucking livid.

I just looked at my insurance policy online and noticed a random fucking personal/title loan place told the insurance company they had a lien against the car. What the fuck? Do insurance companies just let fucking anyone call up and claim they have a lien on random cars? Never had a loan from these people. Title is in my possession.

Seriously though anyone who does wraps will.

I have a neighbor that does it with his detailing business.

The van (2005 Ody) has been having problems starting lately. Took it to two auto parts stores to have them check the battery, alternator, and starter. All checked out fine.

Yesterday it was continuing the issue, so I took it to a place and replaced the starter (previously, it was rotating slowly and sometimes not starting). After replacement, the starter was turning fine, but the car was stilling having issues starting. Once starting, it was idling low (almost to stall).

So I just replaced the spark plugs, and after two starts, it seems to be okay. If that isn't it, I'll be looking at the fuel system (pump, carb, etc.).

All while on Christmas break to Myrtle Beach from Kansas.

^ good luck finding the "carb" on a 2005 Oddy

Slow starting - did you check the battery cables? Corroded/bad connection will cause high resistance which will cause a slow-to-turn starter (aka act like a low battery)

Yeah. Checked them, cleaned them, re-tightened them.

The starter is turning over fine now; the engine just needs me to press the gas to start.

Scratch that. It's doing the exact same thing starting before I replaced the started and spark plugs.

I've got one of those portable batteries that I'm going to use before starting it each time until I get home (the 31st). Then I'm going to check the electrical wiring to look for a ghost load that is sucking the battery dead when the car is off.

Of course I do, $0 deductible. But I know the insurance company is gonna hang me from the cross for this when my policy is up for renewal

I'm not familiar with who does wraps around here, or has highly rated detail shops. Hence the question.

Anyone know anything about installation of remote start systems? Is it an easy enough DIY? I've done car audi systems a few times, so if it's on that level, I should be comfortable.

Any recommendations for a remote start system?

^^ remote start is probably similar knowledge level, but twice as complicated IMO.
If you have clear instruction and a wiring diagram it is easy, just a very tight space to work in.

Yes. 3 columns closely spaced, supporting three different load bearing beams. They are between the two car bay and the one car bay.

TKE- No change of heart, it’s one of the best cars I’ve ever driven and I think has a very special place
in Porsche’s history. There’s just too many cars I’m interested in. I’ve wanted to build an e30 turbo, an
SMG e46, and to put my MINI on track. That coupled with having to keep this car outside my condo = sale.

Also want to get into wheel to wheel racing, this clears up more space and money.

"SMG e46"

YUCK

maybe it'd be nice as a dedicated track car; maybe it works well flat-out. As a daily driver/weekend warrior like one would normally choose an M3 for, I hate the E46 generation SMG (which is really just an automated conventional manual). I would much rather drive a regular manual around town.

Why? You just have to control the throttle like you would as if you're shifting...

I don't think i've ever heard anything good about the E46 SMG. It's just primitive and clunky by today's standards. Even at the time, the VW DSG obliterated it.

As an “automatic” (with a torque converter), it’s no good, at all. I don’t disagree...

BUT, the SMG in the e46 is NOT an automatic transmission. It’s simply a computer controlled clutch +
gear change system. I agree the DSG is technically superior (and the two aren’t even close as you
said), however for what I want (track driving/shifting while drifting, etc. and being able to not worry
about shifting in traffic), I’m MORE than fine with it.

Sounded terrible as it was ripped off the car.

13" VX wheels.

I am on the hunt for the 14" HX rims, either a pair or more. Doesn't have to be a complete set. I saw a really clean set on craigslist for $260, but I"m not looking to drop that much on a set of HX rims. I've got a set of BMW bottlecaps I could trade for...

It's my DD and the factory headlights are terrible. Modern lights have just spoiled me and I don't feel safe driving the EG at night. So I bought some driving lamps that won't blind others but will supplement the existing headlights. I guess I went a bit overkill here, but I don't mind if this car is ridiculous.
